Kenma winced as the boy nestled against his neck, the lingering scent of alcohol wafting in the air.

With a gentle click, he set his phone aside and shifted his gaze towards Kuroo.

"How could you have let him drink?"

Kuroo waved his hand dismissively and retorted playfully, "Come on, babe! He insisted he could handle it because he's all grown up now!"

"All grown up? And what happened then?"

Kuroo's voice trailed off faintly as he admitted, "...we ended up having a drinking contest."

Kenma's lips formed a taut line as he turned towards Hinata, his expression melting into a gentle affection.

"Sho..." he called out tenderly, but received no response.

He started nudging Hinata's side gently, his touch coaxing a faint groan from the ginger-haired boy, who furrowed his brow in response.

Kenma let out a sigh.

"It's time for you to go home."

Hinata's eyes fluttered open ever so slightly, his gaze heavy. "..Mhm..." he murmured, his voice barely audible.

Kuroo couldn't help but release a soft chuckle as his boyfriend struggled to capture the attention of his best friend.

"Shrimp," he teased, using the endearing nickname.

The boy turned his head in the direction of the voice, gazing up through his long lashes to where Kuroo stood. "...Mhm," he responded with a quiet affirmation.

The fragile boy took a deep breath, his expression filled with a sense of weariness.

"Let's just call a cab," he suggested, his voice sounding languid and drained.

Upon hearing this, Hinata rose from his seat, blinking sleepily.

"I'm up," he declared, his eyes wide like an owl's.

Kuroo couldn't help but smirk. "Oh, really?" he teased playfully.

Hinata fidgeted, a blush creeping onto his cheeks. "O-Of course," he stammered, blowing out his cheeks in a nervous gesture.

Kenma brushed his hair away from his face, his head cradled in his palm. "You're drunk, Shoyo. How do you plan on getting home?" he asked with concern.

Hinata stood frozen for a brief moment, then flashed a wide, carefree grin.

"I'll just walk, duh!" he replied with unwavering confidence.

Kenma leaned back in his chair, squinting his eyes shut, and spoke in an objective tone.

"Shouyou, you can't walk home alone at 2 in the morning. You're drunk and naive, and..."

Kenma's words trailed off abruptly as he heard his boyfriend's snigger.

He peeked open one eye, curiosity piqued.

...

Hinata strode along the sidewalk, his chest rising and falling with rapid breaths.

His face flushed with heat, yet his body felt chilled, creating an uncomfortable sensation.

Midway through his march, a yawn escaped his lips, when suddenly, glimmering specks of gold caught his eye.

He came to an abrupt halt, fixating his gaze upon the source—it was a person.

Adjacent to a trash can, there sat a person, seemingly at ease.
