Unforgivable

CHAPTER 19

Hailey's pov.

I can't believe if this is real because i think i just heard the doctor say am pregnant.

"Are you sure about what you said Doc? I think you are lying."

" Am sure, we ran all tests to make sure it is not wrong, we saw that you had a contraceptive patch? we had to remove it in order to make sure the baby's life is not threatened. Do you have a boyfriend to tell or a husband?'

"I have a fiancee, how long is the pregnancy?"

"You are 4 weeks but we need you to come in for the ultrasound,anymore questions?"

"No, thank you for informing me about this."

"Okay, just know it is early so you can decide on the action you want to take concerning the pregnancy. "

He just looked at me for a long time with sympathy and nodded and left the room.

Wow my life just took a different turn of events. How will I tell him? How will I tell Zeus am carrying his child and how will I tell Don that am pregnant and it is not his? This is just messed up in a whole different level.

I took a deep breathe as a slammed my head on the cormfy pillows. Suddenly i heard my door open and Zeus together with Don and my mum walked in. Worry written all over their faces.

"How are you feeling?"Zeus asked as he studied my face waiting for me to say a lie. 

"Not that bad, just pitchy that now I have to stay in bed for two weeks,"I said trying to lighten the mood but no one was even smiling.

"Am so sorry babe, I never meant to put you in that position, am really sorry."Don said as he approached me stretching his arms and when he got near took my hand and placed it in his as he kissed the back of my hand, all this time i was staring at Zeus to see his reaction but nothing.

This is going to be difficult. Telling them both the truth will blow everything to dust. Girl you are screwed. 

I turned at Don and just smiled at him with a slight nod.

Don's pov.

After taking a needed break at the cafeteria i passed Zeus as he was leaving the room i had slight murmur but since the door was slightly open i heard what the doctor just said.

I cannot believe that Hailey is pregnant, with my brother's baby. I have to do something about it and fast. There is no way he will take away my Hailey from me not this time. I took out my phone swiped open with my fingerprint and scrolled to my contacts to a number I thought I will never dial again and pressed the call sign.

"Well, am guessing you want me to do that clean up job I offered huh?"

"Yes, Chase, that's what I want, as soon as possible."

" Am on it, text me the place, never thought you could go that dark for a girl but I guess you find her worth it."

"Yes she is."

Grunting as I ended the call because I hate making him feel right about something.

Hailey's POV.

When I arrived home I made sure everyone knew I was alright and slept thinking about the next move I will make to ensure smooth sailing after announcing my pregnancy to the two people I care about.

next day.

After spending almost one hour in a toilet bowl due to morning sickness I decided to call my assistant to cancel everything I had planned for the week. As I ate my salted crackers I started thinking about what I will tell the two brothers that I am pregnant and also we need to cancel the wedding because the person's child am carrying is not for the one being engaged to.

I still couldn't believe that this is happening. Have been so careful about things and one slip up my whole world has decided to change. I went to pick up my phone to call Don first then Zeus because I know for sure this is life changing for anyone. I dialed Don's number and waited for two rings before he answered.

" Hey, beautiful, are you feeling alright?"

"Hey, Don can you come over? We need to talk, and yes am feeling much better now, thanks for asking."

"Yeah, I'll come over, see you soon."

When the call disconnected I dialed Zeus number, as I heard it ring I got a knock on my door and strolled down to it to see who was at my door. Opening it  I was met with Zeus' eyes and decided to cancel the phonecall since he was already here.
Taking a deep breathe I tried to smile but it backfired and all I did was latch on to him and started balling my eyes out.

"Hey, hey am here okay? Everything is going to be okay cause am right here."

I don't know when I stopped crying but I was at his lap with dry eyes feeling like am about to lose him but I don't know why.

"I have to tell you something Zeus." I said after removing my face from his neck seeing that have already stained his shirt with tears and snort but he seemed like he didn't care any less.

"What is it love?"

"I don't know how to say it,  so here it goes, am pregnant, with your child."

He took a deep breathe as his eyes widened due to shock. I felt his body become stiff and his eyes suddenly turned cold.

"How did this happen?"

"Well, I don't think I have to explain to you how people make babies Zeus, and if you think am trying to trap you am not, this came as a shock to me, I thought we were being careful but I guess we weren't careful enough."

"Wow, I didn't think....just .... oh my God.  I...I have to go...think about this. Let me go get breakfast and we talk about this okay? I have to go think...and walk ...okay?"

He kissed me and laid me back on the sofa and turned back, stared at me smiled and left.

After a few minutes I went to look out my window and saw him come out of the building. Crossing over as he was taking out his car keys it happened so fast I wasn't able to comprehend what I was seeing. A black car was coming from the road so fast it hit him and sped up without even stopping to see if he was okay. His body flew over the car and he landed hard on the road. All I saw was blood. I started screaming like as if it will help him wake up. I rashed to my door opened it and seeing Don in front of me. I pushed him aside and ran down the flights of stairs because my mind couldn't wait for the elevator.

As I reached the lobby I was pulled back by a strong arm and all I could do was scream and thrash at the person in order to get to him but something told me I was too late. Tears fell down and the last thing I heard were sirens of an arriving ambulance.
