Chapter 29

Monday
Clare's pov
I woke up in between dad and Demi and I looked over at my dad and I just looked at him because I don't really spend a lot of time just looking at him, there's so many people that look at him as the kid that went on Broadway at three years old and later was part of the one of the most successful bands in the world, and then became a successful solo artist but to me he's just always been my dad and even though he was traveling a majority of my childhood he never disappeared and there are some kids that don't even know who their dad is, I am really lucky when I think about it. I leaned closer to him and laid my head on his chest and he wrapped his arm around me.

Nick: morning baby girl (kisses her forehead)
Clare: morning (smiles)
Nick: what are you thinking about?
Clare: how lucky I am to have you in my life
Nick: aww I love you
Clare: I love you too
(Demi opens her eyes)
Demi: aw look at you two your so cute (grabs her phone and takes a picture)
Nick: come cuddle with us
Demi: okay (leans closer to Clare and wraps her arms around her)
Knock knock knock
Nick: (groans) I am going to kill whoever's at the door
Clare: don't get it
Nick: I have to it's probably joe or Kevin
(Nick gets off the bed and Clare leans closer to demi and nick opens the door)
Joe: good morning
Nick: you interrupted a cuddling session, what can I help you with Joseph
Joe: it's already eleven thirty we completely slept in
Nick: our flights not until five and we don't have anything planned unless I forgot something
Joe: well Sophie and I were thinking we could all do something before the flight
Nick: did you wake Kev up yet?
Joe: no I woke you up first
Nick: okay get kev up and we'll star getting ready, what time is check out?
Joe: twelve thirty
Nick: okay we'll meet you downstairs
Joe: okay
(Nick closes the door and walks back over to the bed and picks up Clare and sits her on his lap and wraps an arm around demi)
Demi: this is nice, we don't get to do this every morning
Nick: well Clare's not one for cuddling very often
Clare: hey! That's not true (Laughs) okay maybe it is
Nick: see
Demi: can't we just stay in bed and watch movies, I feel like doing that today
Nick: we can do that when we are back in Cali in our own house and our bed
Demi: I can't wait to go home for the week I miss it
Nick: me too
Clare's pov
We cuddled for a few more minutes and then we really had to get up so dad went to go shower while demi did some last minute packing and I got off the bed but I stumbled a little bit which was weird but I brushed it off and walked to my suitcase to make sure I had everything inside.

Demi: are you okay Clare, I saw you almost trip
Clare: yeah there was just something on the carpet no biggie
Demi: okay
Clare's pov
I made sure I had everything in the suitcase and ten minutes later dad came out of the bathroom dressed and demi went in because I decided to go after her, after debating on what to wear I decided on a yellow tie front ultra crop cami with denim mid rise shorts with converse and when demi got out I went in and showered and got dressed and put my hair in a braid and walked out and put my converse on and we were all ready to go.

Nick: alright let's grab the bags and go
Demi: okay
Clare's pov
We walked down to the lobby and uncle Kevin was already there with aunt Dani, Sophie and Alena and Tina and joe went to get the car.

Tina: so what's the plan for today?
Nick: I didn't have anything planned so let's just see if joe had any ideas
Tina: okay
(A few minutes later joe comes back and valet brings the car)
Joe: your turn to drive nick
Nick: first you wake me up in the morning and then you make me drive and I don't even know where we are going
Sophie: how about the piazza Delle Erbe we can spend the day walking around the market places and it's very historical
Nick: sure
Demi: okay
Kevin: sounds good to me let's go
Dani: alright let's get in the car
(Everyone gets in the car and starts driving to the piazza)
Alena: is there a restaurant at the piazza we haven't had breakfast yet
Sophie: yeah I am sure we'll find something
Alena: okay
Clare's POV
We drove to the piazza and normally I would have plugged in my headphones but dad still has my phone because of what happened yesterday, I am just hoping he'll give it back to me before we get on the plane for thirteen hours. Instead I just looked outside and focused on the scenery because Verona really was beautiful, I love all the buildings and statues that have so much story behind it, twenty minutes of driving later we arrived at the piazza and parked the car and started walking.

Alena: so first things first let's eat
Sophie: okay let's look for a place
(They start walking)
Dani: how about bloom food and caffe
Alena: I am down for anything
Tina: me too it's almost one o clock we skipped breakfast
Nick: alright let's go get a table then
(They walk to the restaurant)
Clare's POV
I am low key glad that we skipped breakfast because it was just one meal I don't have to worry about but now we are at bloom caffe and I don't want to eat anything but I know I should make it look like I am eating something so after getting a table and sitting down I looked at the menu.

Kevin: do you girls want to split a margarita pizza?
Tina: sure
Alena: I am fine with that if we get a medium
Kevin: yeah that's fine, Clare what do you say? You want pizza
Clare: yeah that's fine
Kevin: alright
(The waitress walks over to them)
Waitress: hi welcome to bloom caffe my name is Veronica and I am going to be your waitress what can I start you off to drink?
Clare: water please
Alena: I'll have a coke
Tina: sprite please
(Then the adults order their drinks and the food since they knew what they wanted already)
Joe: so who's excited to get back to Cali?
Clare: me I have missed the beach
Alena: I am excited that we are staying there for a week
Clare: I am going to take you everywhere I'll show you all the places
Joe: legal places I hope
Clare: yes uncle joe don't worry there won't be any craziness I promise
Kevin: I don't know you guys can be quite the trouble makers when you want to be
Alena: daddy I promise we'll be on our best behavior
Kevin: yeah I'll believe it when I see it
(The waitress comes back with the drinks)
Tina: what's the first thing we should do when we get there?
Clare: well you guys already saw Venice so we could go back there, oh and Beverly Hills, the Hollywood sign, you guys will he the tourists and I'll be your tour guide
Nick: I think we are going to take it easy for the first couple of days though don't you think Clare?
Clare: I mean I guess we could but last time they only got to see a little bit of Cali and we are only home for a week
Demi: yeah but we should take that week to rest and relax, it's not always healthy to be on the go constantly
Clare: my health is fine
Nick: hmm
(The waitress comes back with the food)
Clare's Pov
I looked at the pizza in front of me and usually I love margarita pizza but I just can't. Yesterday I had pancakes and pasta I can't eat pizza on top of it, I let Alena and Tina grab their slices first and they each got two so that's four out of eight slices and I grabbed one and took a sip of my water.

Dani: I think we should do a little shopping while we are here, maybe go to a market place
Sophie: yeah the piazza has everything
Dani: okay
Clare: maybe we can find another charm to add to my bracelet, I haven't added one in a while
Sophie: okay we'll go after this
Clare: okay
Clare's pov
I grabbed my fork and started cutting the pizza into tiny pieces and just lowering my fork and threw the slice of pizza under the table and I continued to do that until the first slice was gone and since the adults were wrapped up in their conversations and Alena and Tina were to busy enjoying the pizza to notice what I was doing I got away with it. Ten minutes later we were all done and we paid and left the caffe and headed to the market place.

Tina: oh look there are statues of Hercules, Jupiter, Venus mercury, Apollo and Minerva, dad can you take a picture!
Kevin: yeah sure, girls get in front of the statue
Alena: okay
Clare: do I have to be in the picture?
Kevin: yeah go in the middle of your cousins
Clare: fineee (walks over to them and they take a picture) alright let's keep walking
Demi: I think there's a little jewelry shop in there want to go in?
Clare: yeah
Alena: mom can we a bracelet and start collecting charms too?
Dani: yeah sure let's go in
(They walk into the jewelry store and the boys stay outside talking when a few fans approach them)
Employe: hi can I help you with anything today?
Clare: yeah I am looking for a charm that represents Verona
Employee: I have the perfect one (shows her a golden charm in the shape of a heart that has a key hole in the middle)
Tina: does it represent something?
Employee: well you know the story of Romeo and Juliet right?
Alena: of course we actually got to see it the other day it was amazing
Employee: well the locket gold side of the locket represents Juliet and the black side of the locket represents Romeo
Clare: aww I love that
Demi: you want that charm?
Clare: yeah
Demi: okay what about you girls did you pick out a bracelet?
Tina: yeah we just need a charm
Employee: let's see what else we have
Alena: okay
(They continue walking around and they see a gold locket with a bird surrounded by flowers)
Tina: omg I love that one! It's so pretty
Employee: it represents freedom and it's beautiful
Tina: I agree I want that one
Dani: okay what about you Alena?
Clare: what about a lotus flower?
Alena: where?
Clare: right there (points to it)
Alena: I love it
Dani: are you sure?
Alena: yeah
Dani: alright let's get that one then
Employee: perfect follow me to the register
(The girls buy the charms and bracelet and then walk back outside where a crowd of fans have surrounded the boys)
Fan: can we please get a picture!
Fan: I want one too!!
Fan: can you sign my album!
Fan: we love you guys!
Clare's POV
We walk outside of the jewelry store and their is just a crowd of fans around the boys and then they see us so more fans start walking towards us and for once I regret not being security with us. Uncle Kevin tried to tell them that if they get in a line they will sign whatever they want and do as many pictures as they can but the fans weren't listening and they were causing a scene which attracted even more fans and for the first time I was actually a little scared.

Clare: demi what do we do?
Demi: I am going to call the security team they are at the hotel because we gave them the day off
Alena: how long till they get here because these fans are getting out of control
Demi: let me call
(Demi gets on the phone and tries to talk to the security team but the fans start screaming and she can't communicate to them, finally the security at the piazza show up and escort them to a nearby caffe)
Nick: were you able to get a hold of them?
Demi: no I couldn't hear them but I just texted Mark and he said they are on their way
(The fans start banging on the glass)
Tina: let's never go out without the security team again, agreed?
Joe: yeah
(Sophie looks over at Clare and sees that she's pale and her breathing is off)
Sophie: are you okay Clare?
Clare: yeah I think my anxiety is just triggered I'll be fine
Nick: (walks over to Clare) it's okay look at me your going to be fine, we are all going to be fine okay?
Clare: (takes a deep breath) okay
Nick: feeling a little better?
Clare: yeah thanks dad
Nick: no problem
Clare's pov
The truth is I am not okay, I am terrified the fans keep banging on the glass and screaming, it was pure chaos and my nerves are on high right now. Thirty minutes later Mark and the security team showed up and they gained control of the fans so we could safely go back to our car and by this point it was time to head to the airport.

Tina: well it was nice while it lasted
Alena: yeah at least we got to get the charms
Tina: yeah
Clare: daddy can I have my phone for the plane ride pleaseeee
Nick: yeah that's fine (hands it over to her)
Clare: thanks (takes the phone and plugs in her headphones)
Clare's POV
It was the first time I got my phone this time and I'll admit It's still weird not seeing notifications from the group chat but they were the ones that didn't want me in the group anymore so it is what it is. I checked Instagram and saw the picture demi took of my dad and I this morning with the caption "my worlds" and I couldn't be bothered to read the comments because I already know what half of them are so instead I just went on YouTube and started watching Brent's video until we got to the airport.

(Forty minutes of driving later)
Alena: we are here Clare
Clare: oh okay (takes her headphones out)
Kevin: alright let's grab the bags, check them in and then do security so we could eat something before going on the plane
Everyone: okay
Clare's pov
So that's what we did we checked in our bags, and went through security and so did our security team and then we walked to our gate but because it was only four they weren't boarding yet so we walked over to the Starbucks across from us.

Barista: hi what can I get you?
Alena: hi can I get a s'mores frappe with a butter croissant please
Tina: I'll have the same
Joe: what do you want Clare?
Clare: I'll have a vanilla bean frappe
Nick: that's it?
Clare: yeah we had the pizza earlier remember
Kevin: we are going to be on the plane for a really long time, you eat something good now or you eat something on the plane
Clare: I'll be fine I promise
Nick: this isn't a discussion I am telling you to eat something else
Clare: ugh finee, can I get a butter croissant too
Barista: sure
(The barista takes the adults orders, they get their food and walk back to the gate)
Clare's pov
We sat down and I just took sips of the vanilla bean and even that made me want throw it right back up so there was no way I was eating the croissant but I pretended too and when the croissant was in tiny pieces in the bag i got up and threw it away and walked back to the girls who were just finishing up too, and then it was time to board the plane.

Dani: alright you girls can sit together since we are all in one area towards the front
Tina: okay
Nick: but if there's any fighting or arguing we'll split you up
Alena: uncle nick we aren't five anymore we barely ever fight
Kevin: sure you don't, come on let's go
Clare's pov
We boarded the plane I took the window seat, Tina in the middle and Alena in the aisle. Across from us was dad, and demi, In front was uncle joe and aunt Sophie and in the back it was uncle Kevin and aunt Dani and at five o clock we started flying and I closed my eyes and went to sleep.

Thirteen hours later (5 Am US time)
Pilot: alright we will be landing in Los Angeles in approximately fifteen minutes (turns the lights on which wakes up the adults)
Joe: (yawns) I was knocked out
Sophie: me too
Nick: I think we all were
Demi: (has her head on nick's shoulder and opens her eyes) are we there yet?
Nick: almost, Kevin, Dani wake up
Kevin: emergency landing (jumps awake)
Nick: no we are almost in Cali are you okay?
Kevin: yeah it was just a dream
Dani: I can't wait to get to the house
Kevin: me either I'll wake the girls up (lightly shakes Clare, Alena and Tina)
Alena: (mumbles) are we there yet?
Kevin: yeah start waking up
Alena: okay (opens her eyes)
Tina: I don't want too (mumbles)
Dani: then stay on the plane
Tina: (opens her eyes) no thank you
Clare: (yawns and opens her eyes) what time is it?
Nick: five Am US time
Clare: (yawns) okay
Clare's pov
We finally landed and for some reason I felt really off, I was stumbling a bit but I brushed it off as sleepiness and continued walking off the plane and headed to baggage claim but when we got there I started feeling really dizzy, my eyes felt like they were spinning and I tried to just rub them but it didn't do anything. Alena handed me my bag and the next thing I knew everything went black.
