Drinking her Green Tea Latte, sitting near the window in Starbucks. She has her earphones on, and was using her laptop. Chatting online with her friends, Helen and Faye in Facebook and at the same time, doing her university's homework. She was on Winter break now, and has decided to go back to her hometown to stay with her family.
"So what you guys doing this Saturday? I'm going to the cinema with my boyfriend!" Helen said.
"Again? I thought u just went to the cinema wit ur boyfriend 3 days ago?" Faye replied.
"Yea, and now you guys are going again? Are you guys movie fans or something?" She said.
"Last time, the movie we went to watch was the one I chose. Now we're going to watch the movie he chose." Helen replied.
"Oh, well, have fun then. I'm going to some theme park with my couz. How abt u, Jen?" Faye said.
"Starbucks." She replied.
"Do u always have to go there? We've been hearing u say that everytime. What's up with u and Starbucks?" Faye replied.
"Nothing, just that I love their Green Tea Latte." She replied. It was partly true, she orders it every time when she's at Starbucks. She can never get sick of it, it was part of her life.
"Yea, right. You better tell us the truth after Winter break. I bet it has something to do with that guy." Helen said.
"Which guy? Who?" Faye asked curiously.
"Oh, you know. The photo Jen put up near her bed back in our room, remember? The guy beside her." Helen answered.
"Oh that guy! What about him, huh? Jennn, we need details!!" Faye said.
"Wait til' we're back in the dorm. I'm busy now." She replied. She didn't want to think about him now that she's trying to move on, but she couldn't. It was just too hard to let him go.
"Okay." Both Helen and Faye replied.
The entrance door opened, she glanced over and saw it was just some couple entering. She returned back to doing her homework. Every time the door opens, she will take a look at who it is.
It was 4 o'clock in the afternoon already. She needed to be back home by 6 o'clock and seeing that that certain someone didn't appeared again, she thought better luck next time.
She shutted down her laptop and put it back into her backpack.
Once again, the entrance door opened. She looked over and to see who it is. It was him. The guy who she'd lost contact with for years already. The guy who she can't seem to let go. The guy who she loves but couldn't meet at all.
She quickly turned away and stood up, getting ready to leave. She take the last sip from her latte and walked to the trash bin to throw it.
"Jenny?"
She turned and saw him again. This time, he was looking right back at her. Her heart was beating faster, her eyes were starting to get teary. After all these years, he's back. It's really him,she thought.
"Where were you?" She asked. Questions were starting to form again. Questions that she couldn't ask back then.
"I had to move away." They were still looking at each other, memories were coming back.
"Why didn't you tell me back then? Why didn't you write me letters? Do you even know how long I waited? Every day, I was thinking, is he even still alive? Do you know how worried I was?" She was so scared. Scared that he'll call her stupid for waiting. Scared that he'll laugh at her. Scared of what he was going to say.
"Look, Jen. I couldn't tell you, I'm sorry. I was scared that you'll cry and I don't like seeing girls cry, especially you. Anyways, I couldn't write letters because I didn't remember your address and my handwriting sucks so even if I wrote to you, I don't think you can even read the words."
"You could've called! Don't tell me you don't know how to use phones because that's nonsense."
" I couldn't. I don't have your number. I'm sorry, alright? See, I'm back now. Isn't that fine?" He said, giving her a smile. It was still the same smile, the smile that would melt her heart.
"I hate you for this." She didn't mean it. Even if she wants to, she couldn't.
"I was worried too. Everyday, I wondered. What if Jen got herself a boyfriend? What if Jen has already forgotten about me? What if Jen is gone?" He looked frustrated, like the thoughts were back again. Even though she was right in front of him now.
She wanted to change the topic. She wouldn't want to cry and make a huge 'show' in front of everyone here to see. "When did you come back?" That was the only thing she could think of to change the topic.
"Few days ago. I'm only back for Winter break."
"Okay, what brings you here then?"
"Starbucks? Hoping to meet my love again and, I guess I did." He grinned.
"I guess we're both the same." She was blushing but still smiled back.
He noticed she had her bag pack over her shoulder and said, "Leaving soon? Come on, sit down. We need to update each other on our lives." She chuckled. She went back to her seat and sat back down. She checked her phone, 4:15pm. I'll stay here for one more hour and then I'll go, she told herself.
"You still sit there?" Looking shocked.
"Why? Is it reserved?" She asked, even though she knows it's not.
"No, but... I didn't expect you to remember." He replied.
"Well... I remembered. I was here, waiting for you. I've been and will always be sitting here."
He smiled back, and told her to wait til he bought himself Caramel Frappucino.
He came back, and they started updating on each others' lives.
And the next day, they started hanging out together.
Few weeks later, they started dating.
Few years after that, you know what happen.
