~ MIKEY'S POV ~
I felt my heart and mind race as I heard sensei's voice ring out. "Michelangelo!"
I ran into the dojo, to find sensei on the floor, kneeling, his eyes closed.
"Let me guess... you rescued a girl too?"
I stopped, taken aback. How had he known?
"Um... yeah?" I asked nervously.
He sighed, shaking his head. "She's fifteen, correct?"
I was even more shocked now. "Sensei, how the shell did you –"
He glanced up at me, amusement crawling itself across his face as he chuckled. "My son, your brothers have all said the same thing."
I smiled, getting up and walking towards the door. "Well, if that's the case, I guess I should –"
"Get your shell back here now," Master Splinter said, not even waiting for me to finish my sentence.
I sighed, moonwalking back to the mat. "I'm sorry, sensei," I said as I knelt in front of him, the way we did during meditation and before sparring.
"Michelangelo, you have a beautiful mind. You retreat to your amazing imagination, crafting stories and monsters and dreams there. Tell me, why do you think this tree grows in the dojo?" He gestured to the Great Tree behind him. A memory hit me: Me and my brothers, young, climbing the many limbs of the tree, laughing when sensei couldn't find us.
"Um... it grew magically? Or mutagen splashed on it? Or it was a Kraang reincarnation of our earth trees, but it was infested with mutant squirrels, so they abandoned it here?" I answered, unsure.
Sensei smiled, looking at me. "See, my son? Instantly, you start thinking of all the possible ways its existence occurred. You need to use that mind to think more logically in situations like battling foes." He nodded, signalling I was okay for me to leave now.
"Thanks papa!" I smiled and danced out of the dojo.
I couldn't wait to tell Y/N about the kind things he said about me!
