Adam-
His heart beats a million times a second as he steps off the bus step. He swings his duffel bag over his shoulder and rolls his suitcase behind him. Adam scrolls down his playlist and hits shuffle, places his ipod in his pocket and ear buds in ears. "Hot in Here" by Nelly starts playing. Sunglasses on face, bedhead hair proudly worn, and button up shirt freshly wrinkled, Adam quickly makes his way across the campus grounds.

After a long registration line and process, Adam eventually makes his way into his new dorm. Tired and exhausted, he barely unlocks the door and opens it. He throws his stuff at the first sheetless bed he saw. Down he went on the, probably infected, nasty mattress. After what seems like hours, Adam finally gets up and puts his stuff away in their new respected drawers, puts sheets on his bed, showers quickly, and passes out on his bed.

The sun peeks in through the slightly closed curtains, right on Adam's face. After fighting for a while, Adam finally opens his eyes and sits up. He yawns, stretches, and rubs his eyes. As he gets up, he picks his Nokia phone up. "Aw man, only 9 o'clock? Why couldn't I have slept in a little longer?", Adam thinks to himself. He sits up on his bed and looks around. Light blue paint cover the walls that have yet to be covered by posters and flyers. Adam looks over to the other half of his dorm. To his surprise, the walls were covered ceiling to floor with posters and papers and everything in between. Above the other bed was a doormat sized Russian flag.

Adam gets up and walks to the other side of his dorm to see various rock posters: Avenged Sevenfold, Aria, Five Finger Death Punch, covering the walls. On the desk was tons of textbooks and notebooks and a beaten up black pen. Adam leaned into the desk to peer at an open notebook, in big messy letters it said: IF YOU CAN READ THIS, YOU'RE DEAD. Adam jumped and ran to his side of the room, quickly grabbed his usual workout muscle shirt, a pair of dark gray running shorts, black crew cut socks, and his sneakers and changed in 1 minute flat.

Just as he started to relax, the door opened. Adam didn't have time to see who it was, as he grabbed all of his papers, put his sunglasses and his backpack on and ran out of room before any confrontation could occur. He barely brushed passed his probable roommate when he heard in a low husky tone, "Hey! Watch it!" Adam didn't look back as he kept speed-walking forward, out of the guy's dorm. Adam ran as fast as he could across the campus to the baseball field house. He casually walked in, while trying to catch his breath, and made his way into the coaches office. Coach Westbay lettered the gold plaque outside the baby blue door. Adam tapped on the window and waited a second. "Come in," Westbay said. Adam walked in and sat in the white chair in front of the big navy blue desk. Westbay turned around and looked up from his clipboard, "Hey there young man, welcome to the Sonnenfeld marmot baseball team. I am Coach James Westbay, but out here you will call me coach or coach Westbay. And you might be...?" Adam cleared his throat, "My name is Adam Lavanda, sir." Westbay turns to his clipboard and flips a few pages, his eyes widen with excitement, "Ah yes! Lavanda-Jackson! You are the scholarship boy with all the coaches going after you, I am honored to have you play for my college team. All I need now is for you to fill out this questionnaire sheet here and I will show you to the locker rooms." Adam grinned at his recognition and eagerly filled out the questionnaire:

Name: Adam Lavanda

Age: 18

Birthday: 07/04/84

Favorite number: 17 and 76

Hobbies: Learning/practicing spanish, reading classics, writing short stories

Favorite color: Red

And the questionnaire continued with other questions to learn about Adam. Adam finished and handed the paper to Westbay. And as a man of his word, Westbay got up and guided Adam towards the locker room. Westbay opened the door and started yelling, "Gian! Come help the freshman set-up!" Thuds and clanks could be heard from the other room. The door suddenly burst open and out scrambled a tall, built, blonde, blue eyed young adult. "Yes coach, I am here!" he breathed heavily. Westbay parted with Adam and left the locker room. Gian waved his hand, "Ah, follow me if you would."

Gian led Adam to the room filled with lockers, a fusbol table, and random futons. "Pick any locker you like that doesn't have lock," Gian said with a slight German accent. Adam walked over to a top locker that was closest to the shower room. "I-uh, I'll take this one," Adam hesitated. Gian turned around to a box on a counter by the door leading out. He dug around for a second and then turned to throw a lock at Adam, "Here. Catch." Adam dodged the lock thrown at his face, picked it up, took off the code taped to the back, and locked his new locker.

Adam held out his hand, "Adam Lavanda." Leon took his hand and shook it, "Gian Koch." Adam smiled, I'm glad to finally meet someone who isn't in a bad mood." Gian tilted his head, " Who did you meet that was in bad mood?" Adam paused, "I think he's my roommate but I didn't stick around to see who he was." Gian chuckled, "Ah, I bet you roomed with junior or senior student. Of course he sour, you a freshman." Adam laughed, "Well it doesn't matter, I'm hoping to move into a fraternity house as soon as I can." Gian looked at his watch, "Well, I am going to weight room if you would like to join?" Adam nodded and picked up his backpack and followed Gian out of the baseball field house and across some more grass.

Upon reaching the weight room building, Adam looked over his shoulder and almost gasped externally. There was the cutest boy he ever saw. Tall, Dark brown hair, a luscious growing beard, beautiful caramel eyes, body so built Adam could cry. The boy glanced over and Adam felt his face flush. While Adam was busy blushing over mysterious hot guy, he didn't see that the door to the weight room was 3 steps to his right. Adam walked right into the window next to the door, he quickly looked over to see if hot guy saw. Hot guy and Adam made eye contact and hot guy scrunched his face into an annoyed look. Adam blushed harder and ran into the building. Gian was waiting for him while laughing his ass off. Adam mumbled, "It wasn't even that funny, I don't even know why you're laughing so hard..."

Adam and Gian worked until around 1 pm, Gian showing Adam the workout routines for baseball and Adam constantly looking at mystery hot guy. Gian and Adam parted ways after their work out. Adam stopped by an internet cafe nearby and started writing an email:

Dear mom,

I finally made it to college. After all those years of you pushing me to my limit, I am finally here. Even though we never had the funds, you did your best. I'm proud to call you my mom. Also tell Bixby that I miss him and his horrible jokes already. p.s. Today I found a cute guy on campus, I also made myself a fool in front of him. But hopefully I'll never have to see him again.

Te amo,

Adam

Adam sent the email, logged out and eventually made his way to the guy's dorm. Walking up the single flight of stairs seemed like forever. Adam lazily opened up the door and threw his backpack to the side of his bed. As he closed the door he heard a familiar voice, "Aye, are you my new roomma-," Adam turned and froze.

Rude roommate and mysterious hot guy were the same person.
