Elena ran through the forest, hoping for some indication that Bonnie or Aella was there. She somehow knew that Fell's Church was their direction, the area had been brought up more times in this one day, Elena knew it was no coincidence. She started doubting herself when all she could see was trees and bushes in the dark night until her ear caught a familiar voice:

"What the hell do you mean, 'stop Katherine returning'?! Katherine is dead, she should be very, very dead!"

Aella was never one for holding her thoughts back, but as Elena headed in the direction of her friends' voice, she had to wonder who Katherine was? And if she was 'very, very dead,' why had she been brought up so much lately, especially when she was around.

When she saw something other than shadows through the trees, Elena ran over to it but hesitated before she could reveal herself, it was time she knew what was going on.

Pulling the branch away from her face, she saw Aella, Stefan... and Damon?

Why was Damon here?

She looked to where they were facing and saw Bonnie, only Aella was right, that wasn't her best friend.

"You don't deserve this, Aella," Emily spoke to Aella but seemed preoccupied doing something with the ground. "You and Bonnie should never have to know such evil."

Stefan seemed to share a look with Aella, "What do you mean evil?"

"Emily," Damon groaned from his place on the floor. "I swear to God, I'll make you regret this."

Elena couldn't help but frown deeper; she'd never heard Damon so mad. And how did he know about Emily? How had she missed so much that she couldn't even help her friends right now?

"I won't let you unleash them into this world."

"Unleash what?" Aella sounded actually worried as she squealed out her questions, "Katherine? We've already talked about this Emily, she is very, very dead... right?"

"Them?" Stefan asked Emily as he nudged forward and positioned himself just in front of Aella before looking down to his brother, "What part of the story did you leave out, Damon?"

Damon held his stomach, and even in the darkness, Elena could see he was holding his stomach, "What does it matter?"

Aella scoffed as she pushed Damon down with her foot, ignoring his groans as he fell on his back again, "Storytime about the ex from Hell? It always matters, Damon!"

Stefan turned back to Emily, "Emily, tell me what you did."

"To save her, I had to save them."

Aella grimaced, "I don't think I like the sound of that."

Neither did Stefan, but he needed to know more, "You saved everyone in the church?"

"With one, comes all."

"Stefan..." Aella frowned at the darkness in Emily's tone. "What are you talking about? What is Emily talking about?"

Damon didn't need questions, he wanted only one thing, and shed all of his dignity as he painfully pushed himself up and grabbed onto the two, desperately looking at Emily, "I don't care about them. I just want Katherine."

Elena had only seen that type of desperation when her parents had died, and Jeremy has begged for her to do anything to bring them back. It was heart-wrenching, but Elena could only feel jealousy at his words.

Stefan turned on Damon, "I knew I shouldn't have believed a single word that comes out of your mouth." He looked to a very confused Aella, "Damon made a deal with Emily to save Katherine, that's why he's here." And as Aella put together the pieces backing away from the two, he whirled back on Damon, "This isn't about love, is it? This is about revenge."
