Mara's Point Of View
"Bye Mom, I'm going to school!" I yelled, heading out the door. "Of course you are! That's all you ever do, school, school, school. Yeah you better go and get your stupid, no good self out of here. I can't stand the sight of you."
I just rolled my eyes and slammed the door behind me. Well, that's my mom for ya. My mom has been really stressed out and down lately ever since her and my dad got a divorce just after I graduated high school. Ever since then, I guess that you could say that her and I have had a sort of a "falling out".
I started walking to my college, which is just a short walk from my house. I honestly look forward to these walks because I get to clear my head as well as I get to be away from my mom for a couple of hours.
Being an only child, I don't really have anyone to talk to about these sort of things. I mean, yeah I have some friends that I have met in college, but I can't really tell if they are being genuine or not, you know?

**After Class (A couple of hours later)**
I am now done with class and I am going back home to face my mom again, but luckily I have work tonight, so I won't have to deal with her for that long. I work at this cute little cafe just down the street from where I live.
All of the sudden, I start to get this kind of eerie feeling like someone is following me. I turn around and see this creepy old man with a weird grin on his face and I start to panic inside. Trying not to show my fear, I pick up the pace and start to walk faster.
A few seconds later, I see these two guys who look around my age walking in the same direction as me. I try to catch up to them, hoping they could help me get away from this creep. Once I catch up to them, I start to walk beside them. The one with blonde hair gave me a weird look, but I started talking anyways.
"Can you guys please pretend that you know me or something? That creepy guy back there has been following me for a long time and I just can't get him to stop." The one with blonde hair looked at the other one who had brown hair and the one with brown hair nodded.
The one with blonde hair stopped walking and hugged me. "Hey I've missed you!" He said, "How was the flight?" "It was alright. I had to sit next to this weird guy who kept biting his toe nails off." I said with a slight giggle. I subtly looked to see what the old man was doing and he had started walking the other way.
I breathed a sigh of relief, "Thank you guys so much for helping me. If you guys wouldn't have been walking this way, who knows what that man would've done to me." "Oh it was no problem at all. Who knows what he would have done? There are a lot of messed up people in this world."
"I was actually kind of surprised that you guys knew that this path was here. I take this path everyday and I have never actually seen someone else on it." "Oh yeah, we actually got done exploring that abandon factory back there." The one with brown hair said and the blonde one nudged him. "What?" The brown haired one whispered. "Dude, what if she tells the cops or something?" "She won't dude just chill." I chuckled. I don't think the know that I could hear them.
"Oh really? What for?" "Our YouTube channel." "What's it called?" "Sam and Colby." "Alright. I'll be sure to check it out." "Really? Thanks." "Yeah, of course." "So where are you going? Want us to walk with you?" "Oh, I am just going home, it's just right there." I say pointing to my house that we were now close enough to see.
"Alright, well this is me. It was good to meet you guys. I'm Mara by the way." "Sam." The one with blonde hair and a backpack said. "And I'm Colby." The one with brown and slightly blue hair said. "Well, it was nice meeting you guys!" "You too!" They said walking away.
