This world of ours...
It's a privilege, not a right
To be fair with you, I don't believe we deserve this beautiful world of ours
It lets us breathe, lets us run wild, and for the most part... lets us be free
And what do we do?
Corrupt it
Pollute it
Destroy it
We flood with our misguided ideals and beliefs
Decimate it with pointless wars and shameful politics
We are hopeless
Dreadful
Despicable
Selfish
The infamous phrase, one that has echoed over the continuity of time and space
"There's no place like home"
But...
We don't deserve to call this place home
Shinjuku Remnants
Hundreds of years ago, on a faithful day in 2019, a supernatural catastrophe struck the surface of the Earth, shaping our civilization to how it is today. We call it, the Rapture.
That day, demons resurrected from the damned souls of those we've lost rose from the ground and began to reek havoc across the nations. These demons granted with special abilities began to destroy everything we've built. Everything we've worked for.
To combat these "Remnants", the nations across the world joined together and created a joint organization called Chimera, an elite force tasked with defeating these hellish fiends.
These nation joined under one banner were split into divisions:
The USA Division
The European Division
The Asian Division
The African Division
The Australian Division
and the South American Division
The USA Division was split by itself due to both Mexico and Canada being decimated by these hellish forces and was converted into "Hell on the Overworld", known as Alpha (Canada) and Omega (Mexico). Because of this, the USA has placed heavily guarded walls across their borders, allowing only foreign transportation from the East and West Coasts.
In contrast, it's been scientifically proven that Remnants cannot "spawn" in harsh conditions such as extremely cold weather. Therefore, the Arctic and Antarctica do not have solidified divisions.
In addition, Chimera created a process that injected genetic codes and substances into humans in allowed them to inherit supernatural abilities and traits in order to combat these Remnants, over the years evolving into genetic traits that you were born with.
They called them, Revenants.
It's not clearly known what has been injected within us, becoming a key part human civilization today, only being referenced as codes and substances with no specific origin.
