::::Jaycee::::
"Jaycee Rodriguez, do you know the answer?" I was in my last block class, AP Math class. My teacher, Mr. Jackson was being a pain in the ass.
I had my feet propped up on the desk drawing in my sketch book. "If I did wouldn't you think I would've answered already?" Alexis, my bestfriend sitting beside me, hit me in my arm. It wasn't a playful hit. She was serious.
"You need to pay attention." She snatched my sketch book away from me and put in her book bag.
"Yo, give it back." I glared at her trying to get her book bag. She hit me again.
"No. You know we got exams and I don't want you to fail." She turned her attention back to the SmartBoard ignoring me.
"Give me some paper. I wanna copy down the notes." I looked at her.
She rolled her eyes and handed me a piece of paper. I wasn't about to copy down those notes I was just drawing again. I was ready to go back to the dance studio. Dancing is my life.
One hour later the bell rung and I rushed out of the class to my car. My two other bestfriends, AnnDee and Tae were sitting on the hood talking to some boys. I winced in pain as I felt another hit in my right arm.
"Bitch," I put Alexis in a headlock. "I wish you would stop hitting me."
She pinched me and I let go quickly. "Whatever we need to be at the studio on time today."
I shrugged. "It's my car. I'm driving why can't I decide when we come?"
She sighed and got in the car.
"Yo, tell your boys to go somewhere else. You know we gotta be at the studio today." I told Tae and AnnDee.
They waved their boys off and got I the backseat of the car. I cranked the car up and some lame ass music started playing. I changed the station.
"Aye, that's #1 Girl by Mindless Behavior!" Tae yelled from the backseat.
"Who?" I asked stoping at the stoplight and putting in Chapstick.
"The boy group we were telling you about. All four of us was going to sign up to be their background dancers. They're down here this week."
"Mhm." I parked in the parking lot of the dance studio. I honestly wasn't even listening to them. I ran in the studio to our choreographer's room.
"Jasmine!" I yelled. I took my duffle bag off my shoulder and hugged her. She was my favorite choreographer. Jasmine Meakin. She's Australian.
"Hey Lovely," that's my middle name. I get called that a lot.
"What we learning today?" I took out my extra shoes and clothes.
"Turn Up the Music." She said.
"Why you leave us?" AnnDee asked walking up to us
"You know I do this everyday nothing is new.
I walked in the back to change and heard the same lame music that was in the car. I changed in my sweatpants and my purple wife beater and by black and white Adidas. I kept my SnapBack on and left out of the lockers.
I bumped into some boy with two braids. "Excuse you!" I yelled.
"My bad, shorty." He pulled me up.
I rolled my eyes. "That isn't my name."
"What is then?" He let my hand go.
"Jay-"
"Omg! It's Ray Ray!" I turned around and saw AnnDee, Tae, and Alexis standing there shocked by this nobody.
"Who?" I asked them.
"Oh...I know what you trying to do," The boy who I was guessing was Ray Ray started, "you're trying to act like you don't know or care for me so I can try and get you."
"Wow! How cocky can you get? I really don't know or care to know who you are."
"I'll play along then, Jay." He didn't get my whole name. "I'm Ray Ray from Mindless Behavior."
"What kind of group name is that?" I asked aggravated.
"That's the group we're auditioning for so we can be their background dancers." Alexis said clearly annoyed by my lack of knowledge with this group.
"Oh I guess I wasn't listening then."
"Bro, what's taking so long with the....." A boy with low cut curls walked up to us. "Hey, what's your name?" He asked me.
I didn't wanna be rude since he was being so polite. "Jaycee. Jaycee Rodriquez."
"You mexican?" Ray Ray asked.
"You being stereo-typical right now?"
"What?"
I rolled my eyes. "Yes, I am Mexican." This boy was extremely stupid if he didn't know what stereo type meant. I sighed, "Hey can you guys hurry up and get ready?" I asked the girls. The headed for the locker room. I was about to walk away, but that other boy tapped my shoulder.
"Do you guys have a vending machine?" He asked.
"Yea. You want me to show it to you?"
"Yea. Please."
I grabbed his wrist and walking him to the vending machine leaving two braids behind. "My name's Roc Royal. That's my stage name. My real name is Trey."
"Trey." I repeated. "Nice."
He got a sprite out the machine and we walked back to the locker studio. "I'm sorry about Ray Ray he can be a real cocky asshole sometimes." He said before leaving.
"It's cool." I said smiling at him. He walked back to his studio and I waked back in mine.
::::Roc Royal::::
"You know you were really rude to Jaycee." I told Ray Ray. We were taking a break from dancing. Even though we weren't performing here we still had to practice.
"She was being rude first. She shouldn't be such a bitch." He shrugged.
"Aye, don't be rude! She's really nice."
"Man shut the fuck up. You're not even gonna be in this part of town much longer don't try and get with her." He was on his phone
"What girls?" Princeton asked. He was playing in his hair.
"Girls that were in the dance studio. We ran into them." I said drinking the last bit of my sprite.
"They're auditioning to be our background dancers. They're pretty hot. Especially Jaycee. She just has an ugly attitude." Ray Ray said.
I sighed and rolled my eyes. Ray Ray could be an asshole sometimes. "Could we go back and meet them?" Prodigy asked. He was always interested in meeting new people.
"You guys can go meet whoever you're trying to meet when you get done practicing." Our choreographer said. "Come on up on your feet. You guys are still getting the steps wrong."
We groaned and complained. I just wanted to talk to Jaycee again. That's all I needed to make my day.

You see it's not gonna be about Jaycee and Ray Ray just yet. ✌
