Mr. Knight turned around, his piercing grey eyes sharp at first, scanning the room.

When they landed on Angelica, his gaze softened just slightly, though his aura remained imposing. She stood frozen, unsure of what to say or do, feeling both his presence and the weight of the silence in the room.

His gaze was intense, almost like he was studying her, and it made her heart race.

Suddenly, Angelica remembered her manners. How stupid of me, she scolded herself internally.

A businessman like Mr. Knight had given her this incredible opportunity without any qualifications, and she hadn’t even greeted him properly.

She felt a flush of embarrassment spread across her cheeks. Where are my manners? she thought.

Clearing her throat, she stepped forward, trying to muster some confidence, but her nerves were palpable.

“G-good morning, sir,” she stammered, her voice trembling.

For a moment, Mr. Knight didn’t respond, merely watching her with those unreadable eyes. Then, a small smile tugged at the corner of his lips.

“Good morning, Angel,” he said, his voice surprisingly warm.

It was the first time anyone had addressed her with such ease, and it made her feel oddly at ease, even though she was still reeling from the encounter.

Before she could say anything else, Mr. Knight turned away and walked toward his desk.

As he was about to speak, a sharp knock on the door interrupted him.

He paused, his jaw tightening for a moment, and then he closed his eyes, exhaling slowly.

When he opened his eyes again, the cold, commanding tone returned. “Come in.”

The door opened, and Stacy stepped inside, holding a file in her hand.
“Sir, the office is ready, and here is the file you asked for,” she said, handing it over to him.

Without looking up, Mr. Knight barely acknowledged her.

“Leave,” he said curtly, his tone colder than before.

Stacy gave a small nod and exited without a word, leaving the room in an awkward silence.

Mr. Knight stood and walked toward Angelica, his movements calm but purposeful.
She looked up at him, her heart still pounding.

“Come,” he said softly, but his voice carried an underlying command that left no room for hesitation.

She followed him to a door next to his office. When he opened it, her breath caught in her throat. The space beyond was nothing like she expected. It was a modern, sleek cabin with a minimalist aesthetic. A small black desk stood at the center, its surface immaculate, with a laptop sitting neatly atop it.

The walls were lined with dark mahogany shelves, filled with neatly organized files. And the glass wall, stretching from one end to the other, revealed a breathtaking view of the entire city below.

Angelica’s jaw dropped.

The view was beyond anything she’d ever seen, and the office itself felt like something out of a high-end design magazine.

“I guess you like it,” Mr. Knight said, his voice laced with amusement as he watched her gaze at the room in awe.

“Yes, sir,” Angelica responded breathlessly. “This cabin... it’s amazing. After your office, it looks even better.”

Mr. Knight smiled slightly. “Good. Because this is going to be your office from now on. If you want to make any changes, feel free.”

Angelica’s eyes widened in disbelief. My office? She couldn’t believe it. This space was beyond anything she had ever imagined.
