Marinette's POV:

Where am I? I take in my surroundings, all I see is darkness. And then yellow, or rather blonde, a blonde boy. I walk over to him and before I can get his attention he turns around. I smile, reassured, "Adrien... Do you know where we are? I can't remember how I got here, do you?". He doesn't answer but only smiles sadistically. Before I can ask him what's going on, I trip over. No, someone trips me over. I look back up to see Lila rapped around Adrien's left arm, ugh. Not her. Why is she here? As I get up, they disappear... No, they've moved father away. How strange, they were right next to me only a second ago. My vision begins to blur, I can't see any more, all I can feel is a deafening sound in my ears. Laughter is ringing in my ears. Not one or two but several laughters, aimed at me.

"MARINETTE!", someone's yelling my name. No, what is it? Who...? I scream as my eyes blast open. I am stood up in class, everyone stares at me, that is until they begin to laugh. Oh no, not that sound again. I sit back down, probably blushing like crazy. I'm so embarrassed!

My thoughts of self-loathing are stopped by my teacher, "so glad you decided to join us, Marinette". I apologise quietly "I'm so sorry Mrs Bustier". Alya, next to me, laughs as I glare at her. Lucky for me, the bell rings soon after announcing the end of our school day. I rush out, quickly saying goodbye to Alya and Mrs Bustier, I want to get home as soon as possible!

Adrien's POV:

The bell rings and I begin to put my school supplies into my bag. Behind me I hear rushed movements, I turn around to see Marinette quickly cramming the contents of her desk into her bag. I want to ask if she's ok but this doesn't feel like the right moment. I suppose that I could always send her a message later. She speed walks past me and drops something on the floor, before I can point it out to her she's out the door. I go to pick it up but Chloe gets to it first, this is going to end badly. "Yuck! What is this? Look at this ugly thing Sabrina.", they laugh mockingly together. I get a better look at it and discover that it's the charm I made and gave her on her birthday. She still has it? I'm pleased. I tap Chloe on her shoulder, "I don't suppose you intend on giving that back to Marinette?". "Adrikins! Look at this horrid...thing. I mean, I thought her fashion sense was bad but this really-" I cut her off: "that horrid thing, as you put it, was gifted to her by me. And if you hate it so much you should see no problem in giving it to me". Before she can justify herself I take it off her and leave the classroom, after waving goodbye to Nino.

I should've given this to Alya really, how am I going to deliver this to Marinette? I suppose Chat Noir could always pay her a little visit...

I step out of the car and enter my home, if you can call it that. Homes are supposed to be filled with loving people, there to greet and embrace you. However, when I come home, I come home to an empty entrance. No one here to welcome me. I move to my room and sit down at my desk to do my homework. When I am done I look to my computer screen... Mother. I begin to tell her about my day and how Marinette screamed out in class. I laugh, what a strange girl. "Adrien, dinner!" I hear Nathalie shout from the dining room. I go down to dine and when I am done I come straight back up to my bedroom. I stopped wondering if Father would join me for dinner a while back. I practice my piano for about an hour and announce that I am going to sleep. In reality I am sneaking out. Escaping this boring box and flying to a better place.

I place myself on the railing of Marinette's balcony and I sigh. What a long day. I inhale the fresh night air and close my eyes. When I open them I am greeted by Paris' evening lights. I smile to myself, I love how this city never changes. Whether I've had a bad day or not, this city will remain the same. I'm glad to know that I can always come to this. Vehicles moving around and going places, evening bars full of people enjoying their night, homes full of families gathered together... Incredible.
