I laugh slightly at the display as my dad walks up and puts his hand on my shoulder.
Jay: well slugger today is the day
Y/N: ...yep
Jay: your thinking about THEM aren't you
Y/N: yeah
Jay: you know there's a good chance they won't be there
Y/N: oh they'll be there I've done...research
Jay: well even if you come across THEM you'll be able to handle yourself, I mean hell your way faster than me when I first started out so you've got nothing to be nervous about.
Y/N: I'm not nervous
Jay: ...your not?
Y/N: no
Jay: oh...well...just don't kill anyone
Y/N: well that's quite the blunt way of referencing my past
Dr Wells(down the hallway): the ship for Beacon leaves in two minutes!
Y/N: well that's our cue
Jay: alright good luck
I begin walking out but turn to my dad.
Y/N: oh and dad, no promises

Y/N: then wait until the initiation to show what you can do

As me and Jesse were talking some guy shoves a girl who nearly falls over but I catch her.
Y/N: hey you alright?
Girl: oh uuhhh yeah sorry I'm just really (yawn) really tired sorry
Y/N: that's fine (looks her over) your a speedster aren't you
Girl: w-what how did you?
Y/N: your shoes are new but your soles are worn, you have singes on your sleeves and on your pant legs but most of all your cheeks are flushed with wind burn, all things I had to deal with when I first got my powers
Girl: o-oh wow your...really smart
Y/N: thank you and here
Y/N pulls out a protein bar and hands it to the girl who quickly eats it.
Girl: thanks I've been hungry all day
Y/N: side effect of super speed, your body burns calories at a much faster rate but these high calorie protein bars should take care of that
Girl: oh neat
Y/N: yeah oh by the way I'm Y/N
