In a hospital late in the night, a empty baby bed in the nursery room, a flash of purple light beamed in the baby bed. Once the light was gone, there was just a small baby girl. She was black with rosey brown cheeks, and beautiful brown eyes, and amazingly long eyelashes. In the name tag of the baby bed, a card appeared with purple writing reading, Abrina.
In the morning when the nurse arrived to take care of the newborns. When the nurse saw Abrina, she paused. She was memorised by the baby's appearance. As if the nurse was in a trance, she lightly caressed baby Abrina's cheek.
"Lillian!" Another nurse called from the door. The nurse caressing Abrina's cheek suddenly came back to herself, and turned towards the other nurse. "Lillian, have you not been hearing me call your name for the last ten minutes?" The nurse from the door asked concernly. "Oh, um no. I didn't hear anything at all actually. Have you seen this baby? Lillian said looking back at Abrina. "No, but we can look at her later. Doctor Lu needs you and I to see this patient of his."
"Oh, ok." Lillian looked one last time at Abrina then left with her coworker.
