The primary point of this is to share and dialogue against genocide and fascism. Every month, one entry will be chosen as the winner. The first winner will be announced on 12 July 2019.
We are looking for evocatively written pieces that paint the reality of this violence. Read Anne Frank. Watch the news and talk to people. Find the world and the person you want to write as. Real or imaginative. Write from your gut. Keep it real and raw. Do not plagiarise. Play with your words. If you feel impacted, you are surely going to impact us. We would also be looking out for how many people you can engage with your writing through the votes and comments you bring forth. But, first focus on the voice of your writing.
1. Every month, the most engaging and evocative story/poem will win a signed copy of The Doodler of Dimashq by Kirthi Jayakumar
2. The Wattpad writer will receive a permanent follow from us and a mention in this book
3. A sticker in case you would like to publish the entry as a book in your own account.
4. The piece may be chosen to be displayed or read out during a performance of Frankly Speaking, the play
5. The piece may be provided an avenue to be published outside Wattpad in a reputable blog or magazine. (More news on this later).
