Chapter 2: An old friend, an old life

While being with Toby, I've met new people. Well, in person they were new. They were Youtubers like Toby.

April- Hey! Are you back from school yet??

Me- yeah got back bout 10 min. ago

April- Awesome! You and Toby up for something?

I looked over to Toby who was now questioning Edward lighting up in the sun. "I'd hate to interupt but, April wants to know if we're up for something." He turned his head and gave me a small smile. "Depends." he said.

Me- what'll be the plan?

April- Idk, just hang with me? Maybe play some games??

Me- Sounds good :3 be there in 20

I got up from the couch to get my TOBUSCUS jacket. "Soooooo..." I heard from Toby. "Just hang out she said." "Ohhh alriiight." He groaned with a small smirk on his face. We got in the car and went to April's.

I knocked on the door two times before she answered. She was wearing a black Youtube shirt with shorts and her glasses of course. She gave me an evil smiled and hugged me. "You're five minutes late." she said breaking away to hug Toby next. "sowwy bae." I said sticking my bottom lip out. She chuckled and let us into the the house. I noticed someone on her couch when I walked in. "Who's that?" I whispered to her. "Jesse!" she yelled. A man about the same height as Toby stood up and walked towards us. He had dark brown hair and brown eyes with just abit of stubble on his face. He gave us a polite smile. "This is my new room-mate." April said smiling and gesturing towards Jesse. He pulled his hand from his jacket pocket and extended it to Toby first. They shook hands and smiled. "Hi. Im Jesse Diaz." he smiled at me.

"Jesse?" I said looking at him quizically. "Uhhm thats what I said." "Jesse! Its Hope! Remember? From highschool!" I said in a giddy voice. He looked at me for a second thinking, then his face lit up and he smiled at me. "Yeah hey!! How ya been?!" he said hugging me tightly. "Awesome! How bout you?" I asked back. "Good, good." he said. As we broke away I noticed Toby in the corner of my eye, he was looking away. "So im guessing you two know eachother?" April asked still smiling. "Uhhhh well we kinda-" Jesse began as he rubbed the back of his neck. "We went to highschool together." I said finishing his sentance. I know what Jesse was going to say. And it wasnt going to be good.

"Oh cool!" April said. Jesse shot me a look but didnt say anything. I noticed Toby, he seemed to be better than he was a second ago. We all sat on the couch watching Adventure Time. I started to get hungry and I know April almost never has food. "Im gonna go down the street and get some goodies. Anybody want anything specific?" "Ooo! I want some sour patch!" April said happily. Toby smiled at me, I already knew what he wanted. "I'll come with you, I need to know where the store is at anyway." Jesse said standing up. "Yeah sure." I said. I gave Toby a peck on the cheek, Jesse didnt see that, and me and him left. "So how ya been?" he asked. "Great. I started collage about a year ago."

"Graphic design right?"

"Duh." I said chuckling. "And what about you?"

"Photography. Met April when I first got here. Went to Starbucks and well, yeah." he said. When we got to the store I immediatly went to the candy ile. Sour patch kids, 2 Hersheys bars, Skittles, and some sour gummi worms. I made Jesse get a six pack of coke. I would probably drink one. We paid and left. "So I see you finally met Toby."

"Yeah! It was a hell of a time."

"Wish I could've been there." he said chuckling. I openend the door and went inside. After we put the stuff on the counter, I felt his hand grab mine. I saw Toby glance over in the corner of my eye. I quickly pulled away. "No." I whispered to Jesse. "Why not? Lets pick up where we left off." he whispered back. He grabbed my waist and pulled me closer. "Toby! Come here." I said not taking my eyes off of Jesse to make sure he didnt try anything. I heard him get up from the couch. "No, we're not gonna. That was two years ago." I said trying to push him away. In a quick motion and a loud thump, Jesse hit the wall. I turned to see Toby, glaring at Jesse. "The hell was that for man?!" Jesse yelled rubbing his cheek. "That, was for touching my girlfriend." Toby responded in a deep and angry voice. "Girlfriend? Who's your-" he trailed off looking at me. "Cmon." I said pulling Toby's arm. It was flexed, and his hands were in fists. "Hey April! I think we're gonna go. I'll text you later." I yelled. "Aww what?! Ok, bye bae!" She said not leaving the couch. Toby didnt move, he stood there not saying a word. "Toby."

He glanced at me.

"Cmon, Gryphon's gonna get lonely."

He didnt give me a second look, he just turned and walked out the door. I whispered some words to Jesse before I followed Toby. 'Im sorry that he did that, but this,' I gestured towards eachother. 'no. I have him. Bye' I said leaving. The drive back to the house was quite. Toby was holding on to the steering wheel tightly. When we got to the house, he stood at the door-way running his hand through his hair.
