I watched as a young women walked into the red room. She was beautiful with her wavy long blond hair, hazel eyes that would hypnotize you just by looking in them for a second. Her lips looked full and soft to the touch. She walked in carrying a baby that looked maybe three months old.
She laid the baby down in the black wooden crib and planted a kiss on its forehead. She started to walk away, but before she left she made sure the monitor was on, took one last look around then left to lock up the rest of the house.
Waiting patiently as the fog rolled in, I watched as the women was fell asleep. I felt a pulling in my chest, as though my heart was going to burst out of my body. I opened the window and stepped into the room that was the baby's, what the women didn't know is that she didn't lock the window that led to the child's room. I wasn't the only thing in here, the fog had followed me inside as well.
The room was clean and well organized. It was surprising how hard it can be to keep a tidy house while having a child to take care of.
I stood the thinking of my next move, listening to the cooing coming from the crib. I followed the sounds coming from the infant. I thought my heart was going to explode from feeling, such a strong pull towards this baby. As I peered over the crib it hit me hard and fast like a wave hitting a rock at the bottom of a clif. I knew right then and there, my heart was submerged with love, it was beating so hard it hurt as my eyes landed on a gorgeous baby.
Even more radiant than the mother I saw earlier. All I wanted to do was pick her up and take her away, but I couldn't do that I wanted her to grow up. I wanted to see the person she would become on her own.
I decided to give her something, a gift. I picked her up and sat in the rocking chair in the corner, and stared at the baby's bright hazel eyes. Those eyes I would never forget, she had black fuzz for hair so far. I took my wrist and opened a vain, letting the blood slowly drop into the child's mouth, knowing 10 drops would be more than enough. I kissed the baby's forehead and put her back in the crib. Sadness and loneliness washed over me but I knew I would be back soon.
I made sure the child was covered with her blanket, she had fallen asleep as soon as my blood had entered her system. As I watched the scene before me, the corner of my mouth raised in a half smile.
I walked to the window about to step out but I looked back again to the sound asleep infant. "I will be back soon" I whispered and then walked off, making sure the window was locked behind me, the fog following me as I left.
