AN:

Hey :) I'm sorry I'm taking forever to update! I've been busy trying to heal, but still trying to work out and do my training. But I do want everyone to go check out Normans_Girl93 and gamodei97 they are great writers and I love their stories :) This is more of a filler but I need to make sure I include every detail! Pay aattenion to the little details because they might just be a big deal in the future ;)

Daryl woke up early that day; he always woke up early in the morning. Merle was already awake, along with Dale.

‘Aye Dale, me and Merle are goin’ huntin’. We’ll be back in a few.’ He called up to the man sitting on the RV, rifle in hand. Dale nodded at the brothers and they were off on their way.

After they made it away from the camp, Merle spoke up first. ‘So you keep eyein’ cutie. What’s that about baby brother?’

‘Nothing. She just looks familiar is all.’ Daryl spoke quietly as he shot their fourth squirrel. Merle nodded, agreeing that she looked familiar. They shot a few more squirrels before heading back to camp.

We walked back into camp, Merle going one way and Daryl going the other way. Daryl sat by the fire skinning a few squirrels before Alex came over.

‘Hey Daryl. I can, uh, help skin them.’ Alex told him. Daryl glared up at Alex but through him a squirrel anyways.

‘How does yer sister know Lori?’ Daryl asked. He wasn’t normally one to start a conversation, but this girl has something about her.

‘We, uh, stayed with her and Rick, her husband, for a little bit.’ He told Daryl. Daryl nodded; not wanting to talk anymore.

Avery woke up alone. She walked out of her tent after getting dressed. She saw her little brother over by Daryl. She walked over to him to see that he was skinning some squirrels. She sat down next to her brother and took an un-skinned squirrel to start skinning them.

‘Do ye even know how to skin a squirrel?’ Daryl asked her.

‘Yeah, Dipshit, I do.’ She snapped back, glaring at him. He huffed at her but continued to do what he was doing.

‘Good mornin’ Avery.’ Alex smiled at his sister. She scoffed at him, not being a morning person at all. Merle came over to the three.

‘Hey, little brother. I’m going on a run with some others. I’ll be back later.’ Daryl just nodded at him, not really giving a rat’s ass. Avery stood up soon after Merle left.

‘I’ll be back.’ Avery said. Alex nodded, knowing what she was doing.

‘Ye don’t have to run off to smoke a cigarette, y’know?’ He informed her.

‘Yeah.’ Was all she said before she went off.

‘Yer sister smokes?’ Daryl asked. Alex nodded so Daryl stood up because he wanted a cigarette. Daryl walked in the way he saw her go. He found her sitting on a log in front of her tent that was set up away from everyone. He cleared his throat, getting her attention.

‘What do ye want Dipshit?’ She asked, annoyed.

‘Uh… Could I get a cigarette?’ He asked, looking towards the ground. This girl made him nervous. She huffed but pointed to a bag just outside her tent.

‘Get whateve’ ye smoke.’ She told him. He raised his eyebrow but soon understood when he saw the bag was filled with cigarettes, mostly menthol. He grabbed a pack and went to leave. ‘Uh-uh. Ye gonna smoke my shit, smoke it here. I don’t need the whole fuckin’ camp knowin’ I have cigarettes.’ Daryl sat down next to her and lit a cigarette.

‘Sorry, I’m not the most pleasant person in the mornins’.’ She told him.

‘It’s alrigh’. I do have a question though.’ He looked at her. She looked up to him for just a moment letting him know he could continue. ‘Why do ye always call me, Dipshit?’ She chuckled and smirked.

‘I’m not sure; guess it jus’ stuck.’ He gave her a confusing look but just shrugged his shoulders.

‘Ye know ye look familiar.’ He told her, trying to figure out why.

‘Ye do too. I’m not sure from where, but ye do.’ She replied, in all seriousness. They both thought about where they met, but they had no clue. They headed back towards camp and everyone was up and eating. Merle, Andrea, Glenn, Jaquie, T-Dog, and Morales were all gone on a run into the city.

                                                                        ~ ~ ~

They sat around in a circle eating breakfast; Daryl kept his eyes glued on Avery and Avery kept hers on her food. Most of breakfast was quiet, some chatter between a few. Daryl stood up from his seat, muttering a quiet, ‘I’m goin’ huntin’.’
