The morning started with Millie at the table eating bacon, eggs, and hashbrowns with a glass of orange juice. Her father was at the other end of the table drinking his coffee and looking at the newspaper. Her brother was tuning his guitar on the couch. Everything was pretty peaceful till Millie's mother walked out from the Hallway to the kitchen. "Another kid!" Her mother raised her voice in frustration as she poured herself a cup of coffee. Millie slightly jumped at her mother's burst but kept quiet. "Another one? Are you serious?!" Her father seemed so over this "Children gone missing" thing. "How will I be able to keep my job if I can't even find the first 5 kids who went missing a few days ago as well?" Her mother said while sipping her coffee. If you didn't know, recently in Texas there has been multiple reports stating that children have been going missing. Because of this, Millie couldn't be outside without any adult or alone in the house for that matter. Because of this, Millie would have to go to work with her mom and dad. Millie really didn't mind this but there was really nothing to do where they worked. Her parents work to solve investigations of missing children and as you can see, it's been overwhelming for them.
                              ...
"C'mon, Millie!" Her dad slightly yelled as he grabbed his stuff and headed to the car with Millie's mother. Millie quickly ran outside and hopped into the car. Everyone was silent throughout the whole car ride. Millie felt slightly uncomfortable.
                              ...
Instead of going to the headquarters where the usually work at, Millie's parents drove up into a REAL laboratory. "Wait...this isn't where my parents work. Where the hell are we?" Millie thought to herself. Shortly after they pulled up, her parents got out of the car until her dad turned to her. "You coming?" He gave her a confused look. "Uh, yeah but first I wanna know where the hell are we?" Millie said slightly confused. "This is a real science laboratory. We are coming here for an investigation." Her father said calmly. Millie hopped out of the car and followed her parents into the laboratory.
                               ...
Her parents were greeted by a local scientist who works there at the laboratory. "Hello! Welcome! What brings you guys here today?" The scientist said politely. "We work for solving crimes of unknown children going missing. We would like you to tell us if you know anything about them. About 5 have gone missing...well, make that 6 for today." Millie's mom said calmly. "6 missing children!" The scientist began to chuckle. Millie's mom and dad looked at each other then back at the scientist. "Silly locals..the 6 children are not missing! They were donated for science! I wouldn't refer them as "children" anymore. Refer to them as...GlowKids." Millie kinda scrunched her nose not knowing what the hell the scientist means. "GlowKids..? What is that?" Her dad raised an eyebrow. "It's all about the Legends of Speed program. Because of the Glowkids, justice will be refilled once again!" The scientist said excitedly. Millie just came to the conclusion that this scientist was a MAD-scientist. Although, her parents didn't seem amused at all nor did they believe it. "GlowKids? Justice refilled? Where are these 'GlowKids' at?" Her mom slightly growled thinking the scientist was wasting their time. "They are in the training room!" The scientist began to walk while Millie and her parents followed. After a few rights and lefts, they made it to a huge door. The scientist opened it and the room was all blacklight and glow in the dark. All you could see was dashing colorful lights streaming everywhere and hear kids laughing and screaming. Her parents were in shock. "What are those dashing lights running around everywhere?" Her dad turned to the scientist. "Oh, those are the GlowKids! Care to meet one?" Her parents nodded. The scientist smiled before holding up a microphone. "Mari! Please come up to the doors!" Not even one second later, a huge gush of wind flew by Millie and her parents causing Millie's hair to get all over her face. Standing before them was a young girl around 14 years old with long brown curly hair, brown eyes, and had a black suit with the sides of the suit glowing in rainbow. Her parents couldn't wrap this around their head at all. And neither could Millie. "Meet, Mari!" The scientist showed off Mari as if Mari was her own creation, which she was. "Mari...Mariana?" Her mother looked through the papers of missing children and saw her name come up. "That's me!" Mari smiled brightly. Millie was for sure much older than Mari. Millie was about 3 years older than her. "Mari, explain to them why children have been going missing around the world?" The scientist said. Mari cleared her throat and stood up straight. "The Government needed a bigger and better solution for justice. So many crimes have been happening everyday and every second. Police can't seem to come as fast as they could be before it's too late. Why you may ask? It's because they are busy solving other crimes as well. Police can't do it all on their own. They need help. Now, scientists have came up with a new solution to refill justice again for everyone around the world! With us, the GlowKids." Mari crossed her arms feeling confident in what she just said. "But lots of people have reported these kids missing! Did you just take kids off the road?!" Millie's mom looked back at the scientist. "What? No! If anything their parents gave them away to science! They know about this. Have you ever bothered to contact parents?" The scientist scoffed. That's when Millie's parents knew they screwed up. "Agh!! What kind of a worker am I?! I can't even remember to first contact parents when there is a report that didn't come from them?!" Millie's mom was extremely frustrated. Mari stared at Millie for a seconds before walking to the scientist. "Can I show them my cool tricks!?" "Of course!"
