Beep Beep Beep!

6:30am once again; I turn the alarm clock off before swinging my legs out of the bed. As I head to the bathroom I pause for a second; I have a strange feeling about today, but I brush it off and continue as normal. I quickly hop in the shower, the water rushing over my body. I turn the shower off and wrap myself in a warm towel before proceeding to blow dry my hair. Before I can finish, Killian walks in; oh how I do love him, he doesn't need to do anything to make me smile, he just makes me so unbelievably happy. He kisses my neck and I kiss him back before returning to the dryer. Hair dried I head into the bedroom to get dressed. Half dressed I glance at the clock; 7:50?! Shoot! I race across the hallway, Henry's going to be late! To my amazement he's already up and dressed! I smile as I shut the door and return to my room passing a now fully dressed Killian in the hallway. I pull on my jeans and grab my jacket before following Killian downstairs. Throwing my jacket down on the sofa I turn and realise I can smell something delicious, I follow my nose back past the stairs and into the kitchen to find Killian cooking breakfast; he makes the most divine eggs! I shout Henry down and moments later hear the clattering of footsteps down the stairs, he appears in the doorway with a smile on his face. Eggs plated we all sit down and eat, chatting and laughing as we do so. Eggs devoured, I hug Henry before he heads off to school and then begin to help Killian with the dishes. Dishes done we both grab our jackets and head to the bug my badge gleaming in the morning sun. I drop Killian off at the docks before heading to the station for the day. Just as I get inside I realise dad's car isn't in the parking lot? Strange? Again I brush it off and assume he's on a call out. I finish the filing leftover from yesterday and review all the property and vehicle licenses before picking up my jacket, seeing as it's a quiet day I decide to take an early lunch at Granny's. My phone buzzes as I leave the office, it's Killian:
"Hey love just wondering if you'd like lunch with me at Granny's? Love you 💗"
I stop walking to type a reply:
"Hey! That sounds perfect, meet you there in 10 minutes; love you 💓"
I plop my phone in my pocket and continue my walk through Storybrooke over to Granny's. I open the door and see Killian sitting in one of the booths and walk over to join him. To my confusion he's got two paper bags and two take out cups in front of him. He picks them up before putting him arm around me and explaining that he thought it'd be nice to enjoy lunch outside somewhere just me and him. Delighted I suggest the docks; it's beautiful to sit and look out at the blue waters glisten in the sunlight, especially as it's now finally starting to feel like spring. We take the short walk to the docks and sit in the sun, legs dangling over the edge. Killian hands me a paper bag and one of the cups; I peer in to find my favourite, a grilled cheese sandwich and a hot cocoa with cinnamon in the cup. I pull out the sandwich and begin nibbling the cheese before putting my head on Killian's shoulder. We finish our sandwiches but I remain cuddled against Killian with my head on his shoulder and he with his arm around me and head over mine. Moments like these make me realise how unbelievably lucky I am, I wouldn't want to spend my lunch any other way. We sit for a while taking in the view and appreciating each other. We eventually prize ourselves away from the view and walk hand in hand back into town. Just as we turn the corner towards the station my phone buzzes with a text message:
"Hey Emma could you come over it's urgent, mom"
Alarmed I type a response:
"Hey I'm on my way is everything okay?"
I stand for a second waiting for a reply but nothing happens. Killian notices the look on my face:
What's up love? Are you okay? He asks nervously
I..I don't know? It's mom she says I need to go over to hers urgently I reply worriedly
We continue walking at a more brisk pace whilst I explain the contents of the text from mom, he looks as worried as I do. We run up the stairs and knock on the door and to my confusion dad opens it. We walk in and I immediately begin panicking:
Is everything okay? What's happening?
I turn and see mom sat staring down at the table, confusing me even more. I take a seat across the table from mom, Killian by my side and dad next to mom. After a couple minutes she takes a deep breath and looks up:
Emma, we want to tell you something
I stare at mom still worried and confused, she begins to speak again:
Many years ago before the dark curse and many years before I met your father when I was about 15 I met someone called Herc. He helped me overcome a fear I had and see that I was capable of being a good leader
I gulp, still confused at what this has to do with me
A few years past since after we first met and we never saw each other. Then one day I and he crossed paths again, this time 18. I thanked him for how he had helped me before. We both told each other how we'd thought about each other almost everyday and that we missed each other. About a month into our relationship I fell pregnant with his child, at only 18 I didn't feel ready however I tried my hardest to be ready. I gave birth to a little girl whom we named Eva after my mother, however I just felt too young and naive to be a mother. About a month after her birth I left, I couldn't do it, I didn't feel ready nor did I love Herc anymore. I left Eva with Herc knowing he would take care of her and he'd be heartbroken if I took her not to mention I was in no way able to care for a child. I never saw either of them again after that day. Two years later I met your father and as you already know fell in love and married him and later had you. But what I'm trying to say, Emma...you have a sister a sister that I have no clue where she is or if she even knows who I am I'm so sorry
I gasp almost chocking on the air, how is this possible why didn't they tell me where is she I yell at my parents, tears beginning roll down my face. I feel Killian's hand slide over my lap and into mine, I quickly grasp it for comfort. Before my parents have time to explain I get up from the table and storm out, Killian at my heel. We get in the bug and I begin to drive, tears now gushing down my cheeks. I pull into the driveway to see Henry unlocking the door, once out of the bug I run past him without any explanation, still crying. I kick my shoes off and throw my jacket on a nearby table before locking myself in the bathroom and making an attempt to compose myself. After some time I wipe my eyes and splash some cold water on my face before unlocking the door and wandering out of the bathroom as if nothing happened, Killian looks over his shoulder from the stove where he's cooking and gives me a comforting smile. Killian plates up and calls Henry and I in, I sit down listening to the clomping of feet coming down the stairs. Henry appears in the doorway and before taking his seat comes over and wraps his arms around me. It takes every ounce of strength I have to not break down again. We sit in silence whilst we eat only speaking to ask one another for the jug of water. We finish dinner and Henry began collecting the plates and taking them to the sink, I offer to wash up but Henry insists he's doing it, pleasantly surprised I head into the living room where Killian is already flicking through Netflix hopelessly. He turns and looks at me and knows just by looking at me I feel awful, he notions to the seat beside him and I go sit. He pulls me close and wraps his arm around me; eventually we decide on a movie and we begin to watch. 10 minutes in Henry appears behind me asking if he's okay to go to Granny's to meet Violet which I of course said was fine, delighted he trots off into the hallway and not long after the front door clicks as it closed behind him. Just as we're about to continue the movie my phone buzzes, I glance noticing the message is from mom I ignore it, I don't want to speak to her right now. I quickly press play on the remote and rest my head back on Killian's chest. As we watch I try to concentrate on the movie but the events of the day constantly play on my mind until I start crying again. Hearing my sniffles Killian turns to me, pulls me in and cradles me, my emotions taking over and the sniffles turning to sobs. After a couple of minutes I try compose myself, Killian still cradling me we begin to talk
"I'm sorry" I choke through my tears
"What for?" Killian murmurs as he wipes away my tears.
"I can't imagine how much of a shock today was for you love, I can't believe it myself"
"I...I just can't believe it, I have a sister it just feels so surreal" I stutter
We decide to turn the tv off and head to bed, today has been eventful to say the least. As we're heading upstairs my phone buzzes again, worried it from my parents again I gulp before taking my phone out of my pocket, Killian looks down at me from the top of the stairs as I turn it on; I look down and thankfully it's just Regina
"Hey Emma, Henry's asking if it's okay he stays over here tonight, he and Violet are having a blast playing video games and reading books. He said you were upset earlier, are you okay? Regina"
I sigh with relief before replying
"Hey Regina, Henry needn't ask he's always okay to stay with you, glad he's enjoying his time with Violet. As for me...it's complicated, I'll tell you some other time
Emma"
Turning my phone off I follow Killian up to bed, I let him use the bathroom first. Whilst I'm waiting I stare out of the window at the town and the stars above, it's not my style but I look up through the bay window and wish for good luck, I'm going to need it. Killian appears behind me and kisses my neck before I head into the bathroom, I quickly brush my teeth and wash my face skipping over my usual routine. I take off my jeans and T-shirt, just leaving me in my underwear and vest and head into bed, Killian turns over as I get in. I smile meekly before wishing him goodnight, he pulls me in tightly and kisses my head, cradling me to sleep.
