**sams pov**

Today was Saturday tomorrow It's the school dance that I won't be attending i was too exited for Christmas and I always helped my mum set up the tree so it would feel wrong if I didn't this year jason has also decided against the dance because if I wasn't going neither was he.

Me marley and jason were up bright and early to set up the tree we had a few others helping out but they weren't really committed to it so they left half way through the only one that didn't was a shy boy called jasper he was shy he had short brown hair and nice big green eyes he was polite to us all and we all had a laugh putting the tree up but now we had to put the star in top which was gonna be tricky since this tree wasn't small

"Well I'm probably the lightest" jasper whispered shyly "n-not saying you guys a-and girl are heavy just-"

"Jasper mate calm down we get it" we all giggled

"I can lift him up" marley chipped in

"Ok jasper marley Is gonna lift you up on three and you're gonna put the star on the top got it?"

He saluted and smiled before marley lifted him up and he popped the star on top of the big green tree it looked lovely.Mum always wanted a traditional tree by dad wanted colourful trees like pinks or blues sometimes we'd even had a yellow tree only once did we have a traditional green tree and that was last year mum loved it she took pictures of me standing in front of it and everything.

We covered the tree with a few lights and finished up. jasper was very shy so I gave him a tour of Jason's and I's room he loved it and he always loved the sight of the big box filled with presents

"There's one for you in there but you can't have it till Christmas"

" A present for me? " he mumbled "who'd ever get me a present no-one even knows me.."

"My dad got presents for everyone"

"But how did he know about me..?" He whispered shyly looking up at me

"Well I might have told him there was a cute boy with blonde hair who needed a present" I smiled rubbing my neck

"You think I'm cute!?" He giggled before kissing my cheek and running out

Did not see that coming

I told Jason about the kiss later on and he said that jasper was openly pan i didn't know that but thought It was cool

"Are you sure you wanna miss the dance tomorrow?" I asked Jason

" yeah I'd rather be here in the warmth than out there freezing plus imagine buying a suit and then it rains and you look trash? "

"Wet rat in oversized suit coming through" I chuckled

* knock knock*

"Come in" we said in unison

"What are you two laughing about in here?" Marley asked before coming in

"Just trash honestly we are entertained by the stupidest stuff" jason giggled

"Whatever's" she said smiling " how about we all go shopping tomorrow if Lorna is ok with us three going out? "

"I'd rather stay in here in the warmth" jason said shivering making me and marley laugh

"Oh god you're right we'd probs freeze out there" marley said before sitting on Jason's bed

He so wasn't gay he just made that up cuz he was embarrassed about liking marley

He was always shy around her or red he loved hanging out with her any time he could and I got it she was an amazing girl but honestly he should've just said he fancied her

"Maybe you two.. go on a date tomorrow instead of shopping" I blurted out before thinking

Marley sat up and looked over at me as if I was a mad man

"He just said it's too cold dumbo"

"Not for a date" Jason added in, quickly marleys head snapped round before looking back at me

"Where's the camera?"

" What? "

"Well this obviously is a joke" she huffed

"No it isn't" I said seriously while looking between her and jason

She looked confused shocked even

"Nah no  this has to be a joke no way does Jason fancy me, you don't fancy me do ya jace?"

His face went red all he could do was look at me in hopes for help but I'd already helped enough

"Oh my god he does" marley gasped before getting up

"Oh marley please don't hate me I'm sorry" he pleaded following her

"I don't hate you! I've just gotta ask jade what I'm supposed to say to this" she ran out giggling and all flustered

"Does that mean she likes me?" Jason asked me

" of course it does dude" I smiled and let them sort it out between the pair of them honestly everyone knew they were gonna end up dating even though it wasn't aloud too much Lorna said that it's only fair that they don't miss out on teen love just because they live in a care home

Christmas was so close i was excited to see what dad had bought everyone I knew what he'd bought marley but besides that I was in the dark

"Did you plan a date?" I asked Jason turning the lights off

" YEeah..um about that.. Um were gonna have a movie day in here so if you wouldn't mind leaving us in here tomorrow.. "

"Oh man yes I'll hang with jasper in the communal room"

"Ah mate you're a blessing"

I smiled before getting into bed it was getting very cold now so lorna turned the heating on

"Do you and jasper-"

"Have a thing? No"

"Oh ok" he smiled before getting off to sleep

It was happy with how things had been turning out round here jay had been happier lately and so had i, jasper was slowly coming out of his shell and Jason had finally got a date with marley
