Ashley's POV
It's been a week since Nash and I made up, everything was going back to normal, our group was hanging out like before, there was no tension in the air and there was no awkwardness in our hangouts..
Actually my friendship with Nash was never better..
He tried to make up for all the pain he caused and he was putting so much effort that I forgot about why we fought in the first place
It was Friday and the whole group agreed on having a picnic at the park and so we all packed some snacks and made it to Brittlebank Park, my favorite spot in Charleston.
Melissa was sleeping over for two days straight now so she was over at my place when Nash offered to drive us all to the park but we were taking my car since his aunt was having their family car for the day..
"Hey Ash hurry up Nash is ready and waiting in the car" Melissa called me from downstairs
"Coming" I replied back while running in all directions in my room trying not to forget anything
I packed my stuff and made sure I had everything I needed on me then went downstairs to help Melissa with packing the food into this cute wooden picnic basket that belonged to my mother.
"How cute is this basket" Melissa gushed
"Very cute, It's mom's" I faintly smiled
"That explains the taste, you would've never bought something so cute and girly" Melissa tried to lighten the mood by insulting me, classy.
"Remind me again, why are we friends?"
"Because I'm awesome..? Duh! Now let's get going before Nash tortures us with his time management lecture"
We both exited the house and went straight to the car where a beaming Nash was waiting in..
"Good afternoon ladies, why the rush? You had all the time in the world, I could've waited hundred more years It's okay" Nash obviously mocked us
"Here it comes, Lecture us about time's value professor Nash" Melissa bit back
"Nah, you ain't worth my time" he said
"oh really.. so we're.." Melissa was about to bite back before I cut her off "Hey hey! Kids, will you please be shut up and let us enjoy some nice music?" And then I put on my jam.. Silence by Marshmello ft. Khalid
"I found peace in your violence.. Can't show me there's no point of tryin.." We all sang my hearts out but was then cut off with my phone ringing, I answered and of course it was my dork of a friend Leo
"Hey Dork!!" I answered
"Hey pretty!" He replied back
"What's up" I tried to act casual
"Jake called yesterday and told me you guys were going to the park today"
"Yes we are, and you should come"
"You think?"
"Yes I do, now less talking, more walking, come on get your butt of your couch and move it, I'll see you in 15, babye!" And I hung up to find Nash sulking at me
"What?" I innocently asked
"Nothing.."
"Come on tell me?" I insisted
"Leo is coming?" He asked
"Yep, He should be on his way in a few" I replied casually
"Cool" Nash replied with a weird expression on his face, I thought I knew what was going on with him, but I decided to ignore it since we were just rebuilding our friendship and we didn't need any mixed signals or confusion amid this.
"We're here!!" Melissa shrieked
"God! Woman calm yourself down" Nash said
Everyone was there when we arrived,
Jake, Andrew, Jessica, Hanna, and even Toby
Everyone expect for Leo who was still on his way..
Looking at my group of friends, there was nothing more I would ask for, even Toby, I mean we did end up on bad terms, but he was still a big part of my life and he was there through almost everything, so whatever happened to our relationship was behind us, we were acting like grown ups now and I was really proud of myself for forgiving him and putting the bad blood behind me..
I took a seat next to Jessica and Nash sat on my other side with Melissa next to him
Five minutes later Leo showed up, we all greeted him, the past couple weeks Leo grew closer to the group, everyone except Nash of course..
He was on the basketball team with Jake so I figured this made it easier to get with the group
"You know what can be fun?" Hanna suggested
"Eating" Andrew replied back
"Andrew honey, do you care about anything other than your tummy?" Hanna teased
"What else is there to give a damn about other than babydoll"
"Don't call me that!" Hanna hit his chest
"Kids! Please!" Jake interfered and we all laughed
"Seriously though, let's play truth or dare.." Hanna suggested
"Hanna, aren't we too old for this shit.." Andrew said
"Fine grandpa! Don't play" Hanna replied
"I think that's a good idea, I'm in" Jessica joined in
"Me too" Jake said
"I'm in" Melissa joined
"Me too" Toby chimed in
"Fine, I will too" Andrew said
"No you won't" Hanna replied
"Let him play Hanna, we all will" Nash had Andrew's back
"Fine" Hanna huffed
"Bro, you playing?" Jake turned to Leo
I snapped my eyes to him, he was sitting right across me"
"Yes I am" he said while staring me in the eyes
We held eye contact for what seemed like a good minute until Nash nudged me and asked "What about you Ash?"
"Yes let's do this!!!" I replied shyly that everyone's eyes were on me while I was holding into Leo's gaze..
Hanna flipped the bottle and here it was, pointing at me, which meant Leo got to ask or dare me..
Seemed like this was going to be fun..
