Ashley's POV
"Truth or dare?" Leo said smirkingly
"Truth" I chose"What's one thing you can't live without?" Leo asks
"Oxygen you dumbass" I retorted
"Cut the sarcasm, come on seriously, what is is?" Leo insists
"My Family of course, and my friends, the ones sitting in this circle right this second" I heartedly replied and got some Awwhs from the girls and other gag sound effects from the guys.Hanna was about to flip, but Nash interrupted "I suggest we play this differently, whoever gets asked has to ask the turn afterwards, and whoever the bottle points at will be asked"
"You lost me man, I didn't understand any word you just said" Toby replied
"Okay so here, this is how it goes, Ash got asked yeah? Now it's her turn to ask whoever the bottle points to" Nash explained
Ohs and Ahs came out of my stupid friends' mouths..
Hanna flipped and it pointed at Nash...
"Truth or Dare?" I asked
"Truth" Nash picked"What's one thing you regret the most?" I asked
"Hurting you.." Nash said faintly
Everyone went quiet as Nash and I gazed at each other with unexplainable emotions
Hanna interjected "okayy.. Nash asks.." she flipped the bottle and it pointed to AndrewNash and I broke the gaze off, before Nash asked Andrew
"Truth or Dare?"
"Dare me man, y'all be asking for the truth and we just end up sitting in some shitty awkward silence, so just dare me" Andrew went on ranting"Fine man chill! I dare you to kiss someone from this circle, and you have to explain why you chose this person" Nash challenged Andrew.
"That's not cool man!" Andrew said
"Hey! You wanted a dare and you got one, now man up and kiss someone"And with that Andrew turned to Hanna and kissed her, she was startled at first but then she kissed him back, and when we thought it was turning into a make-out session we all interjected..
"Okay pervs, now that you both know how you feel about each other, please start dating and stop bickering at each other please?" Jessica suggested
Hanna smiled shyly at Andrew who smiled back at her then they both sat casually with Andrew's hands on Hanna's waist and her head on her shoulders..
This was like a dream coming true, ever since we were kids these two would not stop fighting, but it was so obvious they had feelings for each other, so finally they were making moves! About time..And since Hanna was so busy, Toby started flipping the bottles for the couple next rounds..
We went on for what seemed like hours, before the sun started to set so we decided to move on to a better spot to catch the beautiful scenery..
We moved to the wooden bridge and sat there dangling our legs into the water, Nash by my side and Leo and the other side, and I just couldn't help but think I was being sandwiched..
We watched the sunset and played some music on.. and just as I thought how calm and nice this was, Hanna pulled Andrew up to dance, and everyone followed right after
Leo grabbed my hand and kept swirling me around and dipping me like a professional Salsa dancer
I surely sucked at this so all I did was laugh and follow his lead
We went on like this for another hour or so before I noticed that Nash was gone..?I excused myself from the group and went on to search for him
And there he was, talking on the phone with what seemed like an angry expression..I decided on interfering and so I went up to him and asked him "Are you okay?"
"You shouldn't be here.." Nash replied back
"I noticed you were gone, so I came searching for you" I explained
"Shouldn't have, go back to your Salsa class" Nash growledOh my god! Nash and his attitude..
I turned to leave when Nash grabbed me and pulled back to him and before I could protest he apologized
"I'm sorry Ash, just let me be, I don't want to hurt you and it seems like all I do now is hurt you"I looked up to his eyes and I saw what seemed like tears, I wasn't sure because it was too dark so without thinking I reached out and wiped the tears that seemed to fall down from his eyes ..
"Please tell me how to help? At least talk about it Nash.." I begged
"My parents.."
"Are they okay?" I asked, scared of what he was about to say but he didn't..
"They left" he said
"What do you mean left? You told me before they're always traveling and you never get to see them anymore right?" I urged for him to explain further more
"This is how it really went, my family and I used to live in California, my parents were very successful and well known in their field, They owned their own company before it went through bankruptcy.. My dad was charged with fraud and my mom had debts to pay.. So they packed everything they owned and flew to Paris, they still have an office there and they have a valid bank account that they can still get money from. So here I was, stranded and abandoned by my parents and for what? Money.." Nash finally let his guard down and he shredded a few tears
"What about your sister?" I asked
"She moved to New York and started studying fashion there, she has always been the tough one out of us two"
"Why didn't you move in with her?" I asked
"I was never a fan of NewYork, so my aunt decided to take me in since I wasn't 18 yet, and decided to move to a different state and start all over again.. She's an angel, I owe her so much" Nash saidSo that explained it.. That was the fresh start his aunt mentioned before....
"Her husband is a ship captain so he's always on the move, he comes every couple months, stays for a few weeks then goes back again, So she basically freed herself to take care of me, and so here I am, Senior year of high school in another state away from my hometown and away from my parents whom I know nothing of.."
"Oh Nash, I'm so sorry this is all happening to you, but know that tough stuff happens to tough people" I tried to comfort him
"You're so sweet, but I'm over all that now, what's really bothering me is that phone call I just had.. that was my dad" Nash said..
