Chapter 12|' Why do you still look like you want to punch someone?'|

Its been two weeks since the whole gun prank thing and I haven't talked to anyone in my family besides Mom.

When Sadie opened the door that day, she didn't say anything as I walked right into her arms and cried. I mean, who wouldn't? I'm not an emotionally tough person and seeing that my brothers and Mr. Douchebag thought it was entertaining to let me think I watched someone die... well, its not the best feeling in the world.

At school, everyone could tell there was something wrong with the Holloway siblings. None of us talked to each other and I avoided all of them like the plague. If  one of them were to try to come up to me, I would send them a glare and they'd back off.

Mom found out when I didn't show up the next day. Of course I told her everything and she sympathized, saying that I could stay with Sadie to keep my space as long as the Coleman's were okay with it. They were. She also said that I had to visit her everyday, so to continuously avoid the male Holloways, I showed up at her work for half an hour.

Apparently, Dad has to sleep on the couch as punishment and the boys got the ass whoopings of their lives. The day after I came clean, I watched Mitchell limping. The other boys too, had some kind of wince whenever they moved which made me think they finally got the ass whooping they've been needing since they hit puberty. Good.

As for Ryder, I can't even look at him without wanting to lay another punch on him. Its not just that, he won't leave me alone. Literally, every time I turn, he's there like some freaking jack in the box, waiting to pop out and scare the hell out of me.

Sadie and I don't sit at the 'Lucky Table', which has me kind of down since I got pushed to the floor trying to harbor a seat there. But the looks I get from him and Roman make me think that it won't be too long until they'll be joining me.

"You know you'll have to talk to them sooner or later." Sadie stated, throwing a fry at me as we sat at our table.

I pretended to think about it. "How about never?"

"I call bullshit." She said, leaning back against her chair. "Why do you still look like you want to punch someone?" I subtly touched my face. "You are Ryder Holloway, okay? The only person here to have a set of triplet brothers and a twin who are all younger than you – not to mention really, really, really, really–"

  "Sadie!"

"Right sorry," She apologized. "Anyway, you are the only person to have have punched Ryder Mitchell in the face and get away with it. You didn't just punch him, Ry, you fucking decked him. I am proud to call you my best friend."

I looked up at her and laughed. "Seriously?"

She giggled. "You know, Ryder looks like a lost puppy, just staring at you from across the cafeteria."

Sure enough, when we looked, there he was, facing our seats and staring at our table with a weird look in his eye that I could see from over here. He appeared like a wounded puppy and I wanted to go over there but then remembered what he did and the thoughts flew out the window.

"Who cares," I deadpanned, taking a bite of a fry. "If he wasn't such a douchebag, he wouldn't be in this situation right now."

  "True that." Sadie agreed.

She frowned suddenly, glancing at Ryder's table. "Hey, where's Taylor?"

I shrugged like I didn't care, though a small part of me was curious. "Don't know," I narrowed my eyes at her. "Why?"

"Well he is usually over there."

I snorted. "He's probably with one if his 'friends'." I air quoted the word.

  She chuckled. "Probably."

We sat in a comfortable silence after that. All was peaceful until my phone started vibrating. I checked the called ID and it said, Taylor.

I immediately decline the call. Why is he trying to call me during school?

I put the phone on the table and both Sadie and I watched as it started vibrating so much, my new iPhone almost fell off the table if I weren't there to catch it.

"Answer it," Sadie urged. "You never know what might happen."

Knowing she was right, I begrudgingly accepted the call. "What." I demanded rudely.

Taylor didn't acknowledge my tone. "You need to come home," His voice laced with worry. "Its Mitchell."

I shot Sadie a questioning look, who shrugged in return. 'Go', she mouthed and shooed me with her hands.

I didn't even spare her a glare for trying to get rid of me as I jumped from my seat and rushed out of the cafeteria. He may have pulled a twisted prank on me that I might not ever forgive him for, but he's my  oldest brother and I still care about him. Damn genetics.

I dashed out of the room, feeling a pair of eyes following me until I was out of sight.

A/N:

Ooh! What's wrong with Mitchell? What's going to happen next? I am going to go see Annabelle! Has anyone seen it yet? Anyway, thanks so much, you guys! I am truly thankful.
