(Okay, so, authors' note. This takes place in a kinda weird spot. It is after book 10, but without the mention of The Lost Continent. This is also where our main 6 -Winter, Qibli, Moon, Turtle, Kinkajou, Peril- are all still at Jade Mountain Academy, and because of a fewer number of students, winglets tend to blend together for most of the time. This story does follow at set event line, but recommendations are always welcome. I have done some shifting with the winglets, which is important to the story line. I give ocean_orchid full credit to the character Zero (dayday's OC) None of these pictures are mine, full credit to the artists. Now, onto the story!)

"Come on, Kinkajou! We are going to be late!" The worried NightWing nudged the sleeping dragonet. The sky was clear, a blue, sunny day. All the other RainWing students had left to go to classes, and Moon was left to try to wake Kinkajou ."5 more minutes..." The lazy RainWing mumbled softly.

"No. Suntime is over."  The black dragon replied in a stern tone.

"Ugh FINE." Kinkajou admitted defeat and halfheartedly pushed herself up. Moon took off in the direction of the Academy, praying she wouldn't be too late to class. "By all the MOONS I was having the best dream." Kinkajou complained as she took off after her friend.

"All of your dreams are the 'best dream'." Moon answered.

"Yes, I know, but this one was THE BEST one." Moon smiled to herself as the pair of best friends flew as fast as their wings would let them to the mountain, Kinkajou launching into a very detailed summary of her dream.

********************

"Where are they? Moon left to wake Kinkajou awhile ago!"

"Oh, it wasn't that long ago. Plus, Moon would never be late to a class." Qibli reassured Turtle. They were all there for history, minus Kinkajou and Moon. Winter, Turtle, Qibli and Peril sat together, although Peril was careful to keep her distance. Peril had replaced Carnelian in the Jade Winglet, leaving only one empty spot where the MudWing would go. Pike and the SkyWing that had come to replace Flame sat not too far away, but left plenty room for when Moon came back with Kinkajou. Tamarin was also waiting for Kinkajou and was near the Jade Winglet to wait for her. For the Gold Winglet that was sharing most of Qibli's classes with, well, they were pretty low on numbers. There simply is no replacement after Onyx and Sora left and after Bigtail died. There was, however, a replacement for  Icicle: BelowZero, who liked to just be called Zero.

"Well, class, I do have an announcement-" Webs was quickly cut off by Moon and Kinkajou bursting through the entrance to the cave, out of breath.

"I'm...so sorry......Mr......Webs..." Moon panted, Kinkajou just nodding, feeling quite tired after Moon made her run and fly so fast.

Qibli just motioned to the seats they had saved, and Moon sat down without another word. Kinkajou, who was still drowsy, plopped down next to Moon.

"As I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted," Webs continued "The school has acquired a new student for the Gold Winglet that just flew in. Everyone, meet Secretdawn."

A small dragonet stepped into the light, and every one seemed to have different reactions. Kinkajou gave off a small sequel, probably from delight at a new chance with a new friend. Qibli couldn't see Pike or that SkyWing, since they were behind him, but Zero and Winter both seemed to tense up at the same time. Moon looked quite shocked and curious. Tamarin probably felt the sudden shift in mood of the room, but showed little reaction. Qibli's mind started racing, taking in every off detail.

The dragonet standing before them has the body shape of a Nightwing, but is coloured like a SandWing. A poison barb is located at the tip of her tail and Qibli thought he could see what was like a glimmer of stars under her wings.  The dragonet has small, tear-shaped silver scales near her purple eyes. She looked like she was strong, but gave off a meek, smart, mindful vibe.

Secretdawn is a hybrid.

And she has those silver scales near her eyes. Moon had said that those scales showed that the dragon who has them was born under a full moon, either the first, second or third, and that meant that Secretdawn has Nightwing powers. Which means she could be a threat. He needs to know everything about Secretdawn's potential powers-fast.

Qibli needs to get closer to the new dragonet.

*********************

Zero needs to get closer to the new dragonet. She's different, and after those NightWing powers had been explained, don't those tear-drop scales mean she has powers? Zero thought that was something he learned in a textbook. He needs to know all about her. What does she like? Where did she grow up? Does she have any friends back at home? Does she like scrolls? Zero likes scrolls alot, but won't talk about them if she doesn't. Does she need a friend here?  He is pretty alone and isolated, even with his winglet and the Jade Winglet. As Zero watched Qibli, with that same look on his face, the same I-need-to-get-close-to-her-to-find-out look, he knew this could get pretty interesting pretty quickly. Zero has to befriend her, but he would put his scales on it that Qibli just want's to find out about her possible powers.

*******************

Secretdawn hates spotlights. Well, to be fair, she mostly hates the way other dragons stare at her, but still. Why did Dust have to make her come here? Secretdawn would have been fine if she could have just stayed home with Dust and Shadowseeker, but her mother had insisted she get a 'proper education'. She had doubted her mother back at that time, but now, standing in front of 10 new dragons and 20 pairs of probably judging eyes, she wondered if she should have just locked herself in her room.

(Alright, that's chapter one! Again, none of the photos in any of these chapters or the cover photo are mine, credit to those artists. Secretdawn is my OC, but Zero is not. ocean_orchid gets credit for him. Also, yes there would not be 20 pairs of eyes watching her Secretdawn because Tamarin is blind, but she doesn't know that yet)
