mingyu groaned as he reached to his side to grab his phone. the light blinded his eyes as he turned off his alarm. he placed the phone back on the little desk beside his bed and lied back down, stirring for a while before finally deciding to sit up and get ready to face another boring day at work. waking up at six am was always the worst part but he had always looked forward to his journey.

mingyu sprung off his bed and headed straight to the bathroom, brushing his teeth before going for a quick shower. afterwards he threw on some black jeans and a grey sweater and grabbed his earphones and jacket as he headed out the door.

it was days like these mingyu enjoyed the most; the gentle wind dancing with the leaves of the trees, birds singing and the sun shining brightly, all topped off with the freshness of the late autumn air. to him it was almost like he was a character in a movie - and he got to choose the soundtrack. he hummed along with the song that played as he walked down his usual path, waiting for the plot to unravel.

"there he is again," mingyu thought, refraining himself from smiling as he proceeded to his bus stop. he never thought that he'd be so intrigued about a simple, beanie-wearing individual but there he was. starstruck. he stopped at a safe distance, three seats away from the said boy, and sat, trying to be as natural as possible.

he couldn't help but let a little grin grow as he saw that, as usual, the boy had his earphones in. mingyu liked that he always seemed relaxed. his mornings had always been tiresome as he rushed himself to get ready for work but since seeing the boy at the bus stop, he'd always have something to look forward to. even though he never dared to utter a word, his presence was enough to brighten up mingyu's day.

"excuse me," a voice spoke, breaking mingyu out of his trance. he looked up to see the boy stood in front of the bus that had just arrived, brown locks of hair peeking out of his beanie in places whilst he awkwardly fiddled with his earphones.
"uhm yeah," mingyu replied, stopping his music, trying to hide the fact that he was partly startled.
"are you getting this bus?" the boy asked. mingyu looked behind him to see the bus stopped, realising that he had zoned out. "oh yeah, thank you," he said, quickly picking up his bag and getting on.

mingyu smiled to himself. "he spoke to me!" he thought barely containing his excitement. it was going to be a good day, he could feel it.
