"Run. Run and don't stop until you see the river. When you get to the river," she gasps, "swim as far downstream as you can. And don't stop. Don't stop for anybody or anything. Don't stop until you see the island. The island named Hellspring. Find Celest, the goddess of the island. And ask her to stay on her beautiful island. When you find her, do not be rude, be as generous as possible. But whatever you do, do not disrespect her in anyway," she coughed spitting up blood.
My mother died not to long after. Right in my arms. My mother was only 15 when she had me and she was only 30 when she died. She only lived for 15 years of my life. And I wish they could have been better then what they were. We were constantly arguing over stupid shit. Some stuff didn't even matter.
Shit got rough after my dad left her. He left when I was two, so I don't really remember him. All I remember is hearing the front door open and close. He never came back after that.
My mom worked hard to get me where I am now and I'm not going to make that go to waste. She did good raising her daughter and now it's time to prove it.

"Mommy! Mommy! Look what I found outside!" I said running through the house with a little green frog in my hands.
My mother giggled as she saw me run into the kitchen, "Now you have probably scared the day lights out of that poor frog and it's mother is probably worried. Go put it back where you found it and wash up for dinner."
I smiled seeing my mother happy, humming her same tune as I skipped out of the kitchen to go put the from back into the forest behind our house.
I sat the frog down on a small brown long and it hopped away. I smiled and skipped back inside to wash my hands for dinner. Mom sat the plates on the table as I was skipping into the kitchen from washing my hands.
"Mommy do all animals have mothers and fathers?" I asked her.
"Yes baby, most animals do have either a mother or father, or even both," she said smiling.
"So, do I have a father mommy?" I asked swaying my feet back and forth under the table.
She stopped completely and her fork fell out of her hands. I could see the tears forming in her eyes, but she still smiled and looked me in mine.
"Sadly you don't have a father honey. But don't let that get you down. Because mommy will always be here you OK?" she said clearing her throat and continuing to eat.
"OK mommy," I said finishing my dinner.
"Now go take a shower and come down for dessert and movie night." My mom said wiping the tears from the corners of her eyes.
I dont know why the topic of daddy is so sensitive to her. She always seems to somewhat cry when I tried to mention him. But she was a good mommy and nothing could take her away from me.

I ran. And ran and ran up until I reached the river like mother said. When I got to the river I took off my socks and shoes and dived right in, not even thinking twice.
I'm not going to disobey what mother has said this time. I will find this island. I am going to find this goddess Celest. Mother worked hard to keep my life in check, no matter how many arguments we got into she was still there for me. No matter how many fights I got into, she was still there for me. Nothing seemed to make her crack. She was the best mother I could have asked for.
I just wish she didn't have to go so soon. I wish that it was me instead. She didn't deserve it. I was the horrible daughter. I should have listened to her. I should have stayed put. But I had to be the stubborn brat I am.
My vision began to become blurry because of the tears I was beginning to get in the corners of my eyes.
'Shit, of all times to cry,' I thought trying to wipe them away while still swimming. But as soon as my vision cleared I went head first into a large rock.

"Another fight today?" mom asked walking into my room.
"And how would you know? That annoying principle call you again?" I scoffed.
"He did. I just don't understand why you have to get into fights all the time. We have talked about this." she said sighing.
"And the stupid chick had the nerve to talk bad about you. Your just lucky that teacher pulled me off her or she would have been in the hospital." I growled back.
Mom laughed, "Oh come on was it that bad. What did she say to make you freak out like you did?"
"She called you a whore for having me at such a young age. And she said that it was right for my dad to leave a whore like you, spreading your legs for any man you got," I said with a deeper growl this time.
She looked at me and laughed harder. I just stared. How could she be laughing when someone called her such nasty things. I was confused and surprised at the same time.
"How?"
"How what hun?" she said in between laughs.
"How are you laughing at this?"
She looked at me and smiled, "I don't care what some highschool girl has to say about me. She can call me all the names is the damn book and I would still laugh in her face. Because she's like what 15, 16 and I'm 29, baby she ain't got nothing that your mama don't have. What I really want to know though is, did she land one hit one you?"
"Only the first hit. Then after that none of them hit me. And besides she hits like a baby." I said giggling.
"That's my girl! Let's celebrate!" mom said dragging me out of my room into the living room.

When I came to, I was on a shore. I'm not sure what shore, but I was on one of them. I looked around trying to see beautiful green palm trees with gorgeous bright green grass swaying under the trees. The trees were filled with different fruits, not just coconuts. The sand was soft and had this brownish red tint to it. It was the most beautiful scenery that I have ever seen. I was getting up when my foot hit some sort of sign, halfway covered by the sand. I picked it up to see that it read 'WELCOME TO HELLSPRING! ENJOY YOUR STAY' in big, bold, black letters. I smirked at myself, 'I made it! Celest, I'm going to find you.'
