"Vertex Motel"

A storm surely did strike that night. For as soon as Razielle and Balor situated themselves inside the car, all the rage the clouds had condensed within themselves broke loose.

The car ride was awkward to say the least, but Balor's companion payed him no mind. He made efforts to start a conversation way too many times to only accept defeat and shut up. Occasionally Razielle spoke but only to give Balor directions to her destination.

When the two arrived at the motel, the storm had gotten worst, and it was ready to devour anyone in its path. As the car came to a stop Razielle jumped out of the car and proceeded to make her way to reception.

Balor looked at her blurry figure through the windshield and sighed. He too got out of the car and followed Razielle.

The rain was merciless, it seemed as the sky was enraged by something so much and had kept it engulfed for so long, that when all of this rage burst out, it was meant to cause some damage.

Balor could feel his skin being pierced by the bulleting rain and the strength of the wind as suddenly Razielle turned around abruptly in the middle of the parking lot and narrowed her eyes at Balor.

"Why the hell are you following me?"

Over the hammering rain and thunder Balor had some difficulty trying to understand what she was saying but with the scowl visible on her face he didn't need to listen to what she was trying to get across.

"Have you seen the storm! I can't go out there, I'm staying here."

He shouted over the thunderous rain and Razielle only huffed and rolled her eyes and turned back around towards the reception. She realized he was right, and the mortal would probably be dead if he tried to go anywhere else in this storm.

"I wouldn't quite mind that" she said to herself upon the prospect of the mortal dying and chuckled upon the idea. While Balor was looking at her as if she was crazy talking to herself and chuckling while standing in the reception absolutely drenched.

Balor didn't understand why she was lowly laughing, while he stood there hugging himself for warmth while his teeth clattered from the cold.

"Two 'separate' rooms please" Razielle said to receptionist especially emphasizing on the word 'separate'.

"Sorry ma'am. Only one room is available, single bed."

Balor watched as Razielle's smirk dropped and this time muttered to himself, "Not so funny now is it?"

What he wasn't expecting was for the soaked beauty in front of him to hear that and turn around to glare at him so menacingly that he quickly spit out in order to save himself,

"I said, I'll have t-the floor. Yes the floor. You can have the bed and the comforters and whatever you want."

He rambled on, as a small smirk makes it way on the beauty's face as she took up on the room.

"We'll take it."

"Room 727 it is." The guy behind the reception said handing Razielle the key as she took out her card to pay for the room to be stopped again by the guy that stood beside her and whose name she had paid no mind to.

"I can pay for myself you know. I'm not homeless."

"You will be if you don't shut up."

Razielle remarked as she proceeded to pay and dear old Balor raised his hands up in surrender and headed towards their room.

While Razielle and Balor were in for quite an entertaining night of awkwardness, the things at the Romanov household were starting to tumble.

Griffin's weird attitude was bugging Zayden way too much, for one instance he'd be concerned for Razielle and ask about her whereabouts, the next he'd be going frantic and blaming her for Leno's death.

Zayden was almost convinced he needed a physiatrist.

He was sitting in his father's room, going through the old man's journals. There were several of them; Leno had quite the habit of writing. Zayden flipped pages and pages of writing to find absolutely nothing.

Even though Griffin was out of control, Zayden was trying to find anything to end this, anything at all that would lead him to Razielle.

He never had any blood ties with her but to him they didn't need a blood bond to be close. His heart ached for another glimpse of Razielle.

And the way the rain drizzled down, it seemed the sky felt the same.

But even amongst the thunderous claps among the bulleting rain, Zayden could never miss the silhouettes of two figures crouched near to the entrance.

It was a fairly dark and stormy night, he couldn't make out their faces or study the figures, but as soon as the blurry figures stood up and one entered the house, it all fell into place for him.

Sevrus.

Zayden knew his life was in trouble and he had to get to Griffin before he would get to him.

He didn't know what happened but as he opened the door to exit the room, something pulled him back, back towards the window.

And almost as if he couldn't resist he walked towards the window again.

There stood the other unfamiliar figure in his place looking blankly towards the window where Zayden was standing.

And he just stood there as mesmerizing lilac eyes held him in a trance.

Such a deep stance that he didn't hear the rummaging in the kitchen, where Griffin stood with a sharp blade clutched is his hands.

He was so cautious not to break the eye contact, as if the world around him would crumble if he did so.

But the world was already starting to crumble around him, and he was most certainly unaware.

In those moments, all that mattered to him were those empty lilac eyes staring back at him, glaring through his soul.
