Godfrey of Bouillon sat at his desk accompanied by his younger brother, Baldwin.
"So," Baldwin began, "do you ever regret killing your own nephew?"
"What kind of question is that?" Godfrey replied without looking up.
"I'm just wondering," Baldwin shrugged. "I know I wouldn't have the heart."
"Why would I regret it when we're still alive and thriving now?" Godfrey explained. "We defeated the Muslims and accomplished our goal in getting our Holy Land back, Europe is doing better than ever regarding trade, I got elected for ruler of settlement here in Jerusalem, and you are the first king in Jerusalem! Why should one person take away from our benefit? It's not like other people didn't die as well, for that matter."
"I guess," Baldwin agreed. "Whatever, I have some things to do so I'll see you later, brother."
"Have a good day, brother," Godfrey replied as Baldwin closed the door behind him.
At the sound of the closing door, Godfrey put his face in his hands.
And cried.
