The street was ghost-quiet with the occasional noise of a few cars passing through, the beautiful night sky shined as a thousand glitter-like stars covered it. Hadwyn smiled, he was content and enjoying the comfortable silence that enveloped him and his girlfriend as they walked beside each other. He held his bike's handle tightly as he walked it. The silence continued on as both of them continued to enjoy listening to the soft whistle of the wind and rustling of the trees surrounding them.
At last the silence was broken as Fairen, Hadwyn's girlfriend spoke. Her soft and mellow voice filled the soundless void they were once in. "Hey..." She called out softly pulling Hadwyn out of his trance-like state. He turned his head and faced Fairen with a beautiful loving smile, a smile that even the gods envy. "Yes?" He answered her, his equally mellow voice resonated in the air as they both continued to walk.
Another wave of silence enveloped the both of them as Fairen has a rather heated mental debate with herself. 'Should I tell him?' She mentally asked herself countless of times. Her eyes were glued to the ground as she held her chin, she appeared to be deep in thought. "Don't worry." A voice softly said ripping her out of her mental palace, "You can tell me."
Immediately Fairen's attention was back on Hadwyn, her eyes gleamed as she smiled widely out of joy. She ran in front of Hadwyn, her feet softly thumping against the cold hard ground of which they stood on. Fairen stood in front of Hadwyn with both of her arms folded behind her, her hair swayed slightly against the soft blow of the wind. She leaned towards Hadwyn as a car passed by illuminating the area they were in for a few seconds allowing Hadwyn to see Fairen's mesmerizing beauty, god he was so in love with this girl...
"Do you..." Fairen paused, her voice trailing off as she stared at Hadwyn for one second as if reading his face. "Do you remember the time when we..."
In that moment, as Hadwyn listened to his girlfriend, he felt as if he was living in a nightmare. His world came crashing down, like someone chopped the oh so fragile pillar which held it upright, he felt as if someone burned the plans he spent years to create for both him and his girlfriend, Fairen. And so Hadwyn stared at his smiling girlfriend's face and held both of her hands, his bike was now discarded beside of them, with the railings that separated them from the forest serving as support. He smiled at her and she smiled back. He slightly tightened his grip on both of her hands and told her in the most gentle and concerened tone he could muster.
"Love... that never happened..."
