"Ethan if you don't come down now you're going to miss breakfast." Addison yelled turning her head towards the stairs.
She could hear some mumbling from up stairs what sounded like I'm coming. She turned towards the baby scooping another spoonful of applesauce into her mouth.
"At least you still listen to me Stella," she fed the baby more food as she kept on babbling.
"I listen to you mommy," Ezra said with a big smile.
"Yes you do," Addison smiled back ruffling his blond curls.
She turned towards the stair to yell for Ethan again but just when she opened her mouth the bundle of blonde curls whipped by her dragging his backpack behind him.
By the time she turned towards the table Ethan had a plate full of eggs, bacon and toast. She was still amazed how fast these kids could move and how much they can eat. He looked at her with a full mouth smiling innocently but Addison knew better. Ethan and Ezra were identical twins and most people couldn't tell them apart, she could tell just with one look because Ethan always had a mischievous twinkle in his eyes.
Scooping up the baby she walked to the sink to wash her up. "Five minutes guys," she called over her shoulder.
It took almost ten minutes to get everyone out of the house and strapped inside the car. Addison parked in front of the school and turned around to give the same speech she did everyday. "Does everyone know what to do if there is trouble or if you feel out of control?"
"Yes mom," Logan replied rolling his eyes. She gave him a pointed look and he gave a big sigh. "If there is trouble I'm supposed call you first then get everyone together and head over to the safe house. If any of us feels like we can't control our wolf we have to contact you immediately and head towards home or find a spot with no people and wait for you,"he finished reciting the speech from memory.
"Good, and Ethan and Ezra if there is anything you need find Logan and he will know what to." She waited until they all nodded. "And if you can't reach me by phone try to call me in my mind but if there is a life and death emergency does everyone have their call buttons?"
All three boys reached inside their shirts and took out what looked like a necklace with a thumb drive hanging from it. But if you looked closer you could see a button on the device. These necklaces were special made and they all wore them all the time. Once the button had been pressed the rest of the necklaces start to beep and flash red light, and Addison gets a message on her phone with gps coordinates for the necklace that was triggered. She came up with this idea after tons of research online and it came pretty handy in their family. There was one incident with Ethan when he first started school and still struggled to control his wolf, the wolf took over and he barely made it in time to lock himself in the bathroom before he shifted. It was a big mess and by the time Addison has made it to school they almost had the door open and would have discovered a furry wolf instead of a kid. She had to do a lot of damage control and after that everyone got necklaces for emergencies and it had proved to work for them.
Looking at the boys she still couldn't believe that they were her boys. Her heart swelled with love and she could feel the beginning of tears in the back of her eyes.
The boys looked nervously at her,"You're not going to cry again mom, are you?Don't worry we are just going to school." Logan began hesitantly.
Oh suck it up Addison she thought to her self you're acting a little crazy ready to cry because you're kids are going to school. Taking a deep breath she smiled,"Oh come on of course I'm not going to cry. Now come give me some kisses before you're late for school."
The boys grumble but still each one kissed her cheek before climbing out of the car and heading towards the school.
Logan turned his head as if checking if she was okay before he waved and disappeared inside the school. Ezra noticed his brother waving and turned with a wave of his own. Ethan was talking excitedly with his brother and missed both interactions. The two blonde heads disappeared inside the school and Addison started the car. Before she could put the car into drive she saw Ethan's blonde head of hair peek out of the school and gave her an enthusiastic wave. She couldn't help but laugh as she waved back.
Stella was asleep by the time she reached the vet office and tried to carry the car seat as quietly as she could.
"Hey miss Addison. How is that beautiful angel of yours doing?" Mrs. Duncan exclaimed. Mrs. Kathryn Duncan was her receptionist, she was in her late fifties and has worked in this office ever since it opened. The office belonged to Addison's adoptive father and when he died three years ago he signed the whole practice over to her. She had to hire an extra veterinarian while she was finishing school, but now that she was done she helped out as much as she could. Addison still had two vets working in her practice and she didn't plan to change that anytime soon because of the kids. She still tried to come to work everyday but she had to bring Stella with her because she could shift into her wolf anytime and she couldn't leave her with someone else.
Addison tried to protect her kids as much as she could and still let them lead a somewhat normal life.
"She is sleeping so I'm just going to put her in my office." Smiling back at Mrs.Duncan she made her way into the office. Trying not to wake the baby Addy carefully transferred her into her crib that she had in her office. She turned on her extra cell phone and put in a bluetooth into her ear to listen to the baby. Taking a deep breath, here we go again she thought.
