I'm You're Star (Black Star X Maka SEQUEL)

Let's Begin.

Soul, Kid, Liz and Patty and I raced through the academy in desparate search of Black Star or Maka. We didn't separate once. We couldn't risk it after feeling the tension in the letter. We found them cutting at the school's front and they turned to our poor, tired figures.

"You guys look terrible," Black Star commented. Maka punched him. "Ow! I mean.. Uh... You guys okay?" Kid gave them the folder and they read it. "What is this...?" Maka asked in disbelief. Soul stood straight, "We don't know either, we just got the letter." Maka's face dropped. "Then... you don't get it?" We shared confused looks. "Get what?" Liz asked. She handed it to us, "Read it again..."

No one is safe. Get out of Death City. 

Out of options. Anywhere but there.

Value your time left. One day.

One day, so keep moving..

I want to save you before it's too late.

Somehow, I saw this coming.

Go away and don't turn back.

Only return when I give you the 'go'.

No one can be trusted except yourselves.

Everyone. Will. DIE.

Maka shook her head at us. "Don't you see? Read it vertically." Kid's eyes widened as he read the message we missed outloud. "Novo is gone..." Maka stepped back from us. "Do you guys know about this? You wouldn't tell me anything about Novo-chan..."

Everyone waved their hands around awkwardly. "We swear, we don't know." "Then what do you know?" She asked, sounding the slightest bit mad. "Exile," Soul answered. "Soul, what do you think you're-" Soul cut Liz off, holding his hand up. "Maka's my meister. Ain't no lying to her.." "Exile?" She repeated. She looked out in the distance and her brows furrowed.

"It doesn't matter right now. The message of the letter is to leave Death City," Kid stated. Maka's eyes widened and she turned to the school. "I'm gonna talk to Aquaila." 

After that, we didn't stop her.

Maka"s POV

I ran through the dungeon and stopped in front of one. I stated the witch's name and immediately heard light chuckles. "Well, well... Has sweet, sweet Maka come to visit me? How may I help you?" I was infuriated. "What do you know about having to leave Death City." I asked her through the steel door, hardly sounding like I was asking a question.

"Hm? Leaving Death City? Ah! I suppose I didn't punish that girl enough.. I have nothing to do with that. Novo is the only one who knows about it and Death knows where she is now?" I grit my teeth and ran to the Death Room. "Lord Death!" I called. "Yes, yes~! Hello, meister Maka~! How may I help you?" I clenched my fists.

"Please.. I need to know where Novo-chan is!" He popped his large hands out and shrugged. "I'm sorry, but I really don't know! She's gone and I don't know where she went!" The letter.. Novo is gone.. Is this what it meant? No.. I know she's out there somewhere..

Upon heading back to everyone else, they were talking about something. Tsubaki saw me and gestured for me to come over. "Maka, we have to go.. We've never encountered anything like this before, so we're gonna follow what the letter says.. Are you in?" The Japanese girl asked.

I looked down and Black Star poked my forehead. "Come on, Maka, don't be like that." I sighed and nodded. "Alright, alright.. I'm in. It does seem to have something to do with Novo-chan anyways." Kid cupped his chin and nod. "Alright, then. Everyone meet at my house later after school. Bring some things with you, I think we'll be staying for a while." 

Black Star and Tsubaki decided to come with me and Soul to Kid's place after they got their things and I agreed. How could they lie to me..?

Novo-chan, I promise I'll find you. I don't know if you made this letter or what.. I'm not giving up until we see each other again.

We entered Kid's house and he set up some stuff for us for the night. The windows and some other doors were already barricaded. "Only the front door is the entrance to the Mason. But we'll have to lock up that too," he explained. I frowned. "Why?"

"Something's coming, Maka. This letter tells us so. I want to be as prepared as possible. We stick together, understand?" I pursed my lips and read the letter over and over. "I don't understand, though. Why just us? Why save just us? Why not the rest of Death City..?" Soul set his bag on the couch and shrugged, sitting down. "No clue, but we all agreed to listen to this.. little piece of paper."

As the nighttime slowly came, we just sat in the living room in silence, all doors and windows finally barricaded and shut tight. It was quiet.

Until we heard a loud boom outside.

Patty and Liz held each other, Soul gulped nervously, Tsubaki covered her ears in shock, Kid began to sweat and look around nervously. And I scoot closer to Black Star.

"What was that..?" Tsubaki whispered.

"It's what Novo is trying to protect us from. We're not lying to you anymore, Maka."
