His Lotus Bloom: The Return

Chapter 1: 1933

Jean was reading a book about a Scorpion King in the upstairs library when she heard the door open and the noise of suitcases being dropped about.

"Jonathan! Are you home already from your gambling game?" she shouted happily before looking downstairs. Jean looked shocked before running down to scoop up her little nephew Alex and to hug her baby sister and brother in law.

"How was your newest adventure! Did you find anything interesting to add to the museum!" Jean all but squealed. Evelyn immediately beamed at her sister's enthusiasm and revealed a large golden box. Jean's excitement soon dissolved into a pale pallor and a look of sickness.

"Where did you get that?" She all but whispered.

Evelyn looked at her confused as to why her demeanor would change to such a quick and opposing emotion from her previous one. Than realization quickly dawned on her face.

"Oh Jean are you still onto that coincidence of us having those dreams?"

Jean looked at her uncomfortably before excusing herself. Ever since Hamunaptra Jean wasn't her complete self. She kept having strange dreams and delved more into her research to find more answers as to why. She never traveled anymore and always worked. She was getting more ill too. Her episodes had decided to draw themselves out longer and more painful if that was possible. Jean sighed before heading to room, changing into a pale blue nightgown that complimented her pale skin and blue eyes. She quietly yawned before bundling herself under many layers of covers and grabbing her book about the Scorpion King. 

As Jean slowly fell asleep, halfway across the world was another who knew of her adventures and a certain being. What she didn't know, is that they were finding and resurrecting that specific being, the one who still craved and wanted her in his grasp, Imhotep.....
