I've been through a messy relationship or two in my life and let me tell you what, that emotional baggage sticks with you. For a High School student, I know that I probably shouldn't have even be concerned about love, but it's still nice to know that you have someone there for you. But as far as High School goes Jasper was definitely a godsend. He knew exactly what to do or say at any given moment. He was the best.
Now for reference, Jasper wasn't drop dead gorgeous but he was cute and he was mine. He had light brown hair and mesmerizing deep blue eyes that sparkled ever so slightly when he looked at you, he was about 6'1'' and athletically built. Perfect.
He was the biggest goof ball and he loved to showoff that we were together. He used to pick me up and twirl me around. It didn't matter who we were with or what we were doing he would just do it randomly. It was honestly one of my favorite things. One afternoon the two of us were sitting on the couch and he was in the process of drawing half of a heart on the top of my hand, as usual, and I couldn't help but say, "Jasper, please don't leave me because without you I..... well I don't know what I'd do.""Rosalyn," Jasper said, ever so tenderly, "How... How could I ever leave you? You found me when I was broken, and put me back together again. I was ready to drive into that lake, but you pulled me out. If it weren't for you I wouldn't be here right now."
Wincing at the memory I tell him. "Jasper, as long as I'm alive, I promise I will never let you get to that point again. I'm never going to let you go."
He then looked me in the eyes and softly said "I love you."
I replied, as a I always did, because I knew could never truly live without my other half
"To the moon and back."
