It started with the lights flickering every now and again. Then the power would go out for seconds then minutes then hours then days. The government told us that they were fixing it, and we believed them. It happened so gradually that we learned to live with it. We got used to no wifi and Instagram and Facebook. Kids played at parks again, families talked again, teens were not in their room all day. For awhile everything was good.
And then it went bad...
