Peridot's POV

I awoke to water being poured on my face, I spit out the water that landed in my mouth. "You have a nightmare? You kept saying things and woke me up, I told you to shut up but you screamed in your sleep." I coughed.
"S-sorry, I don't remember my dream but it probably was, thanks for not hurting me." She rolled her eyes at the last part. "Don't remind me that I didn't. It's time to get up anyways, it's 5:50am and I need to review these papers again. Do you need to go to the restroom again before I start to work, or some water or something?"
"Uhm yeah actually, to both." She nodded before untying me again. I walked to the bathroom, her following me. "Uh, I can do it by myself this time." I said as she started to reach down to help me again. "Ok then, it might hurt a bit though, I have to watch though." I internally groaned at the last part. After I finished up, her letting me out of the small room again, I pushed up on my glasses as I walked back.
"I won't tie you up again, just don't move around too much or I'll change my mind." She spoke before sitting at the desk, turning on the lamp as she pushed her short hair back, looking down to the folder before opening it and spreading out the papers.
I sat down on the edge of the bed as I watched her go through the papers, circling some things with her pen. Her eyes looked sleepy as she looked at the papers, seeming uninterested. After a few minutes of her boring papers she perked up after hearing a loud horn honk somewhere outside. Her eyes grew wide as she quickly took her pen, clicking it and circling something many many times on the paper. "Oh no. Oh no ohno ohno ohno..." she looked to be panicked as she quickly shoved all the papers back into the file before standing up. She looked to me with her scared eyes before speaking fast. "We need to get out of here, now. I was set up, they are coming for both of us!" Both of us?! What, who is they???! Any why ME???
She got the papers and held my hand as she unlocked the door. "Act normal, don't look scared. When I let go of your hand, turn left and keep walking till you see the building with two big windows, there should be a smoothie store to the right, go there. I'll meet up with you there." She told me before walking out of the door, closing it behind us and throwing the key back as she held my hand with her other. Her hand was a little sweaty, but mine was too so I guess It didn't matter. As we walked around for a little bit, she squeezed my hand before letting go, she looked back at me and nodded before she walked away, leaving me alone in the street to remember her directions. Oh jeez my memory is so bad... let's try this. I think she said to go left first, so I turned left before walking on, she said to stop at some building with no windows I think, so I turned right at the first building which had only a door and no windows. Now I was to look for a smoothie store, I didn't see any. Oh no, did I take the wrong turn? Was I supposed to go left? I went back to the building and went left instead, still no smoothie place in my sight. I walked a little more in different directions before deciding to just ask someone where it was, hoping they didn't question anything. I questioned a man that was walking down the street in the same direction I was going. I had told the man that my phone died and I was meeting up with my date at a smoothie store, but I didn't know how to get there. He bought it. He redirected me to the store and I thanked him before going inside the store. I saw Lapis standing in the corner with her arms crossed, her shirt pushed up more to cover her neck as she tapped her foot, looking around nervously. As she spotted me she ran up to me. Through her teeth she spoke. "Peridot, where where you."
"I'm sorry I'm sorry, I got lost and I forgot the directions you gave me so I had to ask some guy on the street." She looked less worried before she patted my shoulder. "I'm sorry about this, I already broke my earpiece so they can't track me, do you have another on you or was the first one all?" She asked me quietly. "I only had one on me." I told her and she nodded.
"Your coming to my place for awhile, you were the bait for a trap." She said before frowning.
"Wait, I was set up? I'm confused, they knew you were there when they sent me?"
"No, just... I'll explain it later, just, we gotta get out of here, my motorbike is parked outside. Come on, let's go. I'm sorry but you gotta trust me on this." As we started walking to the door she waved by to the cashier and then we went to the electric motorbike outside. She turned it on and sat down, warning up the engine and putting on the helmet that was hooked to the side. "Well come on, get on." She motioned to me. I hesitated before getting on behind her, holding onto her waist after I pushed up my glasses. The motor sounded loudly as we started to drive off. As we stopped at a red light down the street, she put her foot on the road, the bike tilting. She looked behind her for a second before flipping up the glass to her helmet. Her eyes were squinted before they grew wide. "SHIT-!" She quickly brought up her foot before speeding off, the light still red. I held tighter as I screamed, the cars still going as we swiftly dodged them on the road. I could practically feel the air of the cars swerving to not hit us. After we had somehow safely made it across the road I felt my arms start to shake as I held tighter, her speeding up faster. She quickly looked to each side of her before she jumped the side of the rail, making it onto the grass after we fell for a good 5 seconds. "SLOW DOWN! YOUR GONNA KILL US LAPIS!!!" I screamed into her back. I knew she heard me when she shook her helmet from side to side, giving me a good 'no'. The path she took was very bumpy, most likely because it was through the woods, my arms were thwacked with little branches and thorns as she drove.
I had lost track of time till we reached a stop. We were stopped at a subway station. She pulled out a card quickly after we departed from the cycle and scanned it twice, allowing us both to enter. As we walked down the stairs, our hair blew back very hard from the recent train pushing my glasses up onto my face. I held onto her sleeve as we speed walked to the arriving train.
After we had gotten on the subway, I looked to her as we both held onto the bars to keep balance. She soon caught my view and cleared her throat. "Sorry about that, I'm on a wanted list in that town. Technically they'll try their best to catch me if I'm there, they keep following me everywhere I go because I'm worth a lot to them or I-I don't know... They knew I worked with the mafia so they probably knew that your my prisoner and I panicked." She said quietly to me before the train stopped, the sound ringing for the next stop. "This is us, come on."
I followed her as I shifted from side to side to dodge the People in our path. As we got to the exit, she swiped her card before grabbing the back of my neck once again. I was shoved up against a wall where nobody was walking as she started to whisper into my ear. "Don't try escaping, I can't tie you up here because we are in public, but I will still shoot you if you run away." She said before patting my back as she let go of my neck. She guided me through the very new to me town area. I'm guessing this is the town she lived in because it looked pretty city-like to me, different then the more shady one we were previously in.
I heard a few people talk about my hands and the patch on my shoulder as I walked by, they questioned the gauze and duct tape on each finger. I put my hands in my torn pockets as I walked down the street, after hearing enough of that.
"So, do you live here?" I asked. She looked to me and spoke. "Yeah, I have two homes. My big one is here, the smaller one is in the other town. I'm trying to sell it, but nobody wants to live in that part of the city anymore. Too many thieves and criminals there."
"Oh."
