I couldn't get any sleep all night, it was as if I wasn't even capable of sleeping.
I usually look like I'm a crazy or insane person, but I probably looked like I hadn't slept in days, even when it was only one night.I didn't want to wake Syd, so I quietly walked to the bathroom, and looked at myself in the mirror.
Sure enough, I had purple circles under my eyes. You see, I do this really strange thing where if I can't seem to fall asleep, I'll lay upside down until I feel really sick, and then I'll try to go to sleep again.
This is because whenever I feel sick, I fall asleep easier, but last night it didn't seem to work.In fact, it seemed to backfire and now I looked even worse than usual.
I quickly took a shower and put on the same exact clothes I had on before.
I then walked to back to my room to get some fresh clothes to put on.I opened my door and went straight to my closet.
"You're up early" I hear Syd say behind me.
"Oh. Yeah. I always get dressed up to go nowhere."
"Why?"
"I like to feel pretty."
Oh my god, why did I say that? I don't know if he took it the way that I was really saying it. I always like to feel pretty, even though I'm not.
"But you are pretty, why must you feel it?"
"I don't know" I quietly mumbled, ashamed.
I could feel him staring at me, and for some reason, it made me feel uncomfortable this time. It's like he was trying to read me like a book.
"Why don't I take you to breakfast?" he offered.
"I'm grounded, and I'm not hungry anyway."
"What are you going to do all day?"
"Not sure."
"Well, if you don't mind, do you think I could get some breakfast?"
"Okay, okay, fine. We can go to breakfast."
"Splendid. I'll pay if you like?"
"No, it's fine. I can pay."
"No, I'll pay. I insist. It's the least I can do, since you're nice enough to be letting me stay here."
"Okay."
There was nothing more that I could say. If he wanted to pay, I guess I would have to let him.
I wanted to make sure the coast was clear before we left, so I knocked on Vanessa's door, but there wasn't an answer.
"Vanessa?" I whispered close to the door, thinking maybe she was awake, but there still wasn't an answer.
I figured it would be fine for us to leave now, so me and Syd went out the front door this time, and made our way to the side walk.
"Where would you like to go?" I asked him.
"What restaurants does Seattle have?"
