~Levi POV~

My morning starts like any other Sunday morning. The air has a faint bite to it as I exit the door to my flat, pulling the key out of the lock and placing it inside the silk confines of my wool coat. Sunday's are my favorite day of the week because not only is it my day off, it is also a day to relax and go to the book store. A literature professor, much like his students, must read on a regular basis as well. Granted, I read for the sheer pleasure of it, which is more than I can say for the brats I lecture. Some of their grades reflect that known fact.

Freedom Wings Discount Books, is right around the corner, so I do not waste time on a taxi, instead I walk there, enjoying the bustling sounds of city life and the nip in the breeze that is now blowing my bangs out of my face. I nestle deeper into the scarf around my neck as I reach out to pull open the 'enter' door of the store, sending the bell into a frenzy.

"Good morning, Levi!" I am greeted by Hanji, the owner of this particular book store, who is busting her ass with a heavy box of new shipments. "You are later than usual, shorty!" She places the box down on the counter with a huff and places a hand on her hip, looking at me with framed eyes. "I just opened about ten minutes ago. I was almost worried you wouldn't show up." Her sarcasm could use a little work.

"Hanji, stop the small talk, it is not your best past time." It would seem being a professor to loud brats on a weekly basis has turned my attitude cold.

"Ah, Levi you are such a romantic," she laughs and heads for the coffee maker near the cash register. "Want some?"

"Of course, what would I be without my Sunday morning coffee?" I pull loose my scarf and shimmy out of my coat, placing it on the counter. The great part about this particular book store is that I know the owner personally, being we went to school together, and so i am granted special coffee services and discounts on the already discounted books.

I ignore the ring of the bell signaling another costumer as Hanji hands me a cup of Black Silk coffee. She greets the newcomer with her usual eccentric voice and returns to her duties of opening the shipment of new books.

I finish off my coffee and place the styrofoam cup in the trash behind the counter and begin my walk through. I am on a mission to find a particular book entitled, Moonwalking with Einstein, suggested to me by my fellow colleague, Erwin Smith.

I reach the section of books where I would find it and run a long finger over the spines of the multicolored novels, scanning over their names.

"Moonwalking.....moonwalking....."

"Is this what you are looking for?" A man's voice breaks my search and I look up to see a younger man holding out the novel. "I heard you whispering the name while searching for it so I thought I would save you some time since I came across it." The boy's emerald eyes seem sincere. A weak quality in a human being.

"Thank you," my voice is formal and I walk up to the other person and reach out to take the book, noticing he is quite a bit taller than me. Damn my short genes. "How very thoughtful of you," our fingers brush ever so suddenly at the transfer of the book and I can't help but feel the boy pull his hand away quicker than expected.

"It is not a problem really." The boy's voice is quiet, submissive. He seems nervous.

"What is your name, young man?" I attempt to stand as tall as I can but fail miserably.

"Eren, sir."

"Well, Eren, you are kind. Thank you." And with that I turned on my heel and walked up to Hanji at the check out.

"Find what you were looking for, little one?" Her short remarks irritate me but my mind is focused on something else as she goes through the check out routine.

I exit the book store with only one thing on my mind....those gorgeous emerald eyes.
