The Boy Next Door

*prologue*

"Kelly! Josh is here!" my mom yelled from the living room of our small two bedroom apartment. The walls were as thin as a piece of paper and it didn't take much to hear what was going on in the next room.

I took a quick glance at the clock to see it was only 7:30 am. I grabbed my bag and slung it over my shoulder and started to walk out of my room. I looked in the mirror to check out my outfit One more time. it was the first day of senior year so I figured I should put some sort of effort into how I looked today. I fixed the sleeve of my grey shirt so it was slightly showing off my left shoulder. it was see through with lace in the back and went to the middle of my stomach, which went perfect with my black skinny Hollister jeans. my dark brown hair was straightened down with my bangs pinned to the side with a diamond pin. I would say I looked pretty damn good today.

After re checking to make sure my makeup was perfect I came out of my room and slipped my black and silver sandals on that Josh got me for our six months last week.

"well its about time slow poke" josh said with a sarcastic voice.

"sorry I forgot how much it meant to you to get to school 30 minutes before class even starts you nerd !" I joked with a mocking voice while sticking my tongue out at him.

he just smiled one of his amazing smiles that showed of his extremely straight and white teeth. he was so hot. why he chose to date me I have no idea. he is a varsity basketball player and the team captain. he gets amazing grades and has already got college scouts looking at him. he is one of the most popular boys in school. as for me, I try to stay out of the lime light of high school. I'm more to myself, my grades are good, and I have my one best friend. I'm hot nearly as popular or liked by as many people as josh. but he see's something in me no one else does I guess.

"bye mom love you" I said as I closed the front door.

I hopped in joshes silver BMW, and watched him get in the drivers seat. he started the car, pulled out of the parking lot and headed to school. I leaned my head against the glass and stared out the window watching the other cars as they passed. I felt josh put his hand on my leg, rubbing it showing me comfort. he knows I hate school and would rather be doing something, anything else. I put my hand over his and look at him. I studied his facial features. his perfect jaw and blonde hair. which matches perfectly with his crystal blue eyes and his tan, clear complexion.

"you ready for this babe ?" he asked looking over at me as we pulled into the parking space.

"yep. I'm just glad this is our last year." I replied with a smile

" well I'm just happy to show off what a beautiful girl I have" he said moving is eye brows up smiling at me.

"oh please" I said rolling my eyes sarcastically

"its true, Im the luckiest guy in this school." he said. he squeezed my hand and leaned over kissing my on my head. sending a wave of electricity down my body. He let go of my hand and opened the car door, them ran around the front opening mine. holding his hand out I grabbed it and started walking with him towards the school. a bunch of his buddies from the team ran over to him giving him man hugs and jumping around like a bunch of monkeys.

"dude ! what's been up !?" one said as he slapped him on the back

"haven't seen you all summer! looks like you've been busy" the other taller one said while shooting me a look and raising his eye brows.

"haha yep. ive been very busy. well excuse me guys I have to walk my girl to her locker" Josh said while waving bye and pulling me through the crowd as we walked in the front doors. our school was big. and had a lot of hallways. it was only ten years old and had just been repainted. we turned right anvil's started walking down to where my locker is. I punched in the combo and put my jacket and makeup bag in there. we didn't have any books seeing as it was only the first day. and we were seniors the only real classes we had to take was English and math, plus Any extra classes we wanted.
