"...."

My eyes open to white walls, I look around the room. The first thing I see is Natsu resting in a chair. He's still wearing his fireman pants and boots, his face is scuffed and blackened with soot.

"Ah!"

I try to sit up, but the heaviness of my body hurts. Causing me to cry out.

"Huh! Lucy, your awake!"

This wakes Natsu, his face twists with emotion. But he sighs with relief.

"Have you been-"

I try to sit up, while questioning Natsu. But he swiftly holds me back in place.

"Lucy, you shouldn't try to move just yet. You inhaled quite a bit of smoke.."

"No, I want to sit up. I feel uncomfortable laying down."

He sighs as if defeated. His muscular arm supports my back and helps my sit up.

"Careful Luce.."

His touch reminds me of the thoughts I'd had, 'It really was Natsu that pulled me to safety.'

"You've been unconscious for over a day now, I'm so glad your finally awake."

"That long!?"

Natsu nods, "All first-aid was down while you were out. But luckily you have no serious burns and your throat and lungs aren't damaged to bad."

"Once again I'm lucky.."

"Huh? Well yeah your very lucky, I mean there was a lot of smoke and-"

"No, Natsu. I'm lucky to have you."

Natsu's cheeks tint red, he looks at me with his deep onyx eyes and calls my name. His arm slides up my back, pulling my into a tight embrace. Natsu then whispered into my ear.

"I'll always protect you."

In a clear, resolute voice, Natsu say's "Luce, I want to use my life.. All of it, to love you."

"N-Natsu."

I barely get his name out as I tear up, he leans in slowly and kisses me tenderly. It's when he deepens the kiss, the tears stream down from my closed eyes.

"Oops! I guess we came at a bad time!?!"

Gray, Levy, and Erza is standing in the doorway. Natsu slowly pulls away, sending me a wink, in which I flash a smile.

"Oh for the love of- Move over, Natsu!"

Levy, who's become impatient, pushes him off the side of the bed.

"Lu-Chan!" She weeps. "I'm so~ glad your alright!"

Levy's hugging me, Gray pats Natsu on the back. "Well done man."

They share a nod, as Erza speaks up. "So, Jellal wanted me to pass along that.."

Erza goes on to tell me that Natsu's youngest brother  Larcade has been found guilty, along with his older half brother Ignia. Who was on the run for the fire that killed his father Igneel.

"Hmm, I thought it was him.. but Larcade.. Tch, glad Jellal got to him before I did."

Natsu said with a tight fist. Of course I get questioned about keeping such scary things to myself. But they all forgive it, due to my fear.

"So it's safe to say, it's over?"

"You got it."

Says Jellal, as he enters the room.

"Glad your up, Lucy. I don't know if I could've felt with this buffoon if you'd stayed out much longer.."

I had to spend a few more days in the hospital, until I fully recovered. thankfully I always had a friend at my side.
