A Test Of The Heart

[Y/n] groggily walked into the dining room of his home, where Eraqus and his other students were already eating breakfast. He sits down next to Aqua as she quietly giggles.

Aqua: Nice of you to join us.

[Y/n]: Sorry, I was up later than usual thinking about some stuff.

Eraqus: Would you happen to have found an answer to your troubles?

[Y/n]: No, not yet.

Eraqus: I see. Well, please, hurry up and eat. I'd like to have a word with you.

Everyone quickly finishes their breakfasts before walking outside. Eraqus and [Y/n] stand at the top of the stairs as everyone else walks past them to the courtyard.

Eraqus: Why are you having trouble finding an answer?

[Y/n]: Aqua told me I should follow my heart, but we all know how often my heart can lead me down the wrong paths.

Eraqus: Yes, after your series of mishaps at the market, how could any of us forget?

[Y/n]: Exactly. I asked her what I should do, but she said she couldn't answer for me.

Eraqus: And she's right.

[Y/n]: She always is. That's the reason I asked her.

Eraqus: I think you need to find a way to test how your heart has grown.

[Y/n]: What do you mean?

Eraqus: Follow your heart in an important decision and see if it leads you astray or not. Then you will know whether to follow your heart or not.

[Y/n]: (staring off, slightly absent minded) Yeah. I've just got a bit wrong with me right now.

Eraqus looks to where his student is staring to see Aqua helping Ven with something in a book he was reading.

Eraqus: You know, there's nothing wrong with being in love with someone.

[Y/n]: Maybe there isn't. Why does it matter to you?

Eraqus: I know you don't think of me is a similar way to how I think of you, but I see you as a son, [Y/n]. All my students are my family. You especially, though, feel like a son I could never have. All I want is for you to be happy.

[Y/n]: Thanks, Master Eraqus. And I think I've got a good test for my heart.

[Y/n] gets up and walks away from Eraqus and towards Aqua as Ventus thanks her and runs off when he sees the other student coming. Aqua smiles after him before looking to you.

Aqua: Hey.

[Y/n]: Hey, Blue Bird.

Aqua: What did Master Eraqus want?

[Y/n]: Just wanted to talk to me about making a decision. I need something to take my mind off of stuff for a bit though. And I was wondering if you'd like to do something with me?

Aqua: Y-You mean like a, um, date maybe?

[Y/n]: Yeah, that's the intention.

Aqua: U-Uh, yeah, sounds awesome!

[Y/n]: Wait, really? Um, okay. Meet me here at four? Does four sound good? Four sounds great to me. Does four work for you?

Aqua: (giggles) Four is fine.

[Y/n]: Alright, see ya then!

He quickly runs back into the main building and into the kitchen, where he finds Eraqus enjoying some tea.
