Think: Does the world in which your story takes place encompass a planet? Solar system? Galaxy? Or is it more narrow in focus, only covering a nation, spaceship, or just a room?
Exercise: In a chapter of your book, describe the physical setting in which your story will take place. You don't have to be super detailed here; we're going to build detail as we go. You only want to verbally sketch the physical features of the place in which your world is contained.
For example, let's say that your world is an entire planet. What does this planet look like from space? What are its major features, such as climate, continents, the color of the sun, etc. Maybe make it fun and have the planet spin "backwards" so that things rise in the west and set in the east... or maybe it has two moons. Be creative here.
