Waiting for Superman (Caleo fanfic)

This will be a two chapter short story. All goes to rick! 

Chapter 1: Calypso

Calypso sits on the almost white sand of her island, just looking out into at the ocean. Her heart is full of sadness, and she knows Leo isnt coming back. They never do, sure he said he would, but even if he remembered there was no way he could ever return. It just didnt work that way. Deep inside Calypso she had a spark of hope, she couldnt help it. She had a deep hope that Leo would return, he would come back. The logic inside pushed all of that away, told her he wouldn't, she didnt even know how long it had been, time was different here. He could be dead by now, maybe he was married? Maybe it had been a day, she didnt know. But then again, maybe Leo was her superhero? maybe He would find his way back, and take her away from here and back to the real world. A slight smile played on her lips as she looked out into the waves, she would wait, after all where could she go?

She says, “Yeah, he’s still coming, just a little bit late.

He got stuck at the laundromat washing his cape.”

She’s just watching the clouds roll by and they spell her name

Like Lois Lane

And she smiles, oh the way she smiles

when she wasnt doing her garden, Calypso spent her free time on the beach waiting. She looked at the sky and found constellations, she talked to the few nature spirits that where around. Still, no Leo. Calypso wouldnt let her spirits down, she sang her songs, and never gave up hope. The nature spirits whispered as she would walk by, they felt saddened for her, but none had the heart to tell her Leo wouldn't return. They hopped she would stay happy for as long as she could. All they wanted was for her to be happy, every one on that island prayed to the gods for Leo to return.

Calypso danced around to a tune she made herself, before kneeling down at her garden, giving it her tender care, hope still burned in her heart.

Counting the stars

Making a wish on a passing car

She’s dancing with strangers,

Falling apart

Waiting for Superman to pick her up

Calypso eventually began to lose hope, she sat out on the beach waiting, trying to see him in the distance. She waited faithfully every day, telling herself he was coming, he was just fighting in the war, yes that was it. The war wasn't over yet, but he would come when it was over! It was like someone poured a bucket of water of the fire of hope in her heart. It slowly seemed to disappear, and fade away.

Some of the spirits tried to approach her, console her and tell her he wasn't coming back, but every time they tried she would snap at them, saying the same thing.

"Hes coming back! Hell find away, he just has to finish the war first! He will come back!" She would say, almost yelling, and close to tears. The Nature spirits would nod sadly and walk away, leaving her on the beach waiting her Leo to return.

Calypso would smile, and sing as she had before, but it was almost like the smile was to trick herself into thinking it was okay, into thinking he was coming back for her. It was fake, it was an attempt to save her feelings once more, to appear okay, to try and think Leo would come back.

She’s out on the corner trying to catch a glimpse

Nothing’s making sense

She’s been chasing an answer, a sign lost in the abyss,

This Metropolis

She says, "Yeah, he’s still coming, just a little bit late.

He got stuck at the Five and Dime saving the day.”

She says, "If life was a movie, then it wouldn’t end like this,

Left without a kiss."

Still, she smiles, oh, the way she smiles, yeah

Calypso was done, she was short tempered and found herself very fragile and emotional. He wasnt coming back for her, there was no way he could, even if he wanted to.It couldnt be done, she was stupid to think he would come back, just another empty promise. She fell for it again, Leo only loved her cause it was part of the curse, he didnt actually love her. Leo must have forgotten, like they all do. Found another love, who knows what had happened to him, but he wasnt returning. 

Calypso sighed heavily and stood up from where she sat at the beach, and walked back to her cave and lay on her bed. For the first time since Leo left she let herself cry. She buried her face in her hand and cried for who knows how long. She cursed the gods, and what they had done to her, she yelled, and cried some more. She wished she was mortal so she could just die, and not have to go through this over and over and over. This tme with Leo was the worst though, she had actually fallen for him hard, not just because of her curse.

yes its short, but oh well.
