Epilogue

*TWO DAYS LATER*
*At School for the Gifted*

Sarah stood with Quicksilver in Charles office wearing better clothes and makeup, something in which she hadn't worn for a year. Her orange-blonde hair draped over her jean jacket that she wore a tank top underneath. Her jean shorts were ripped in some spots on the front but still looked decent.
"Sarah, I would love for you to come and live here at the school. Teach the kids how to control their power. Teach, even me, the power of patience and kindness. I haven't exactly been kind to people in my day. You helped me change. Thank you."
Sarah smiled at him. "Well, thank you for taking me in, showing me that people could actually be born with what you possess. I know I'm not a mutant but I appreciate your acceptance of me. But I don't think I can stay here any longer. There's always trouble out there in the world and someone is going to need my, our, help from time to time."
Charles laughed to himself, proud of Sarah. "But you'll always stop by anytime?"
Sarah nodded and hugged him from his wheelchair. Charles rubbed her back as he hugged her. Couldn't be prouder.
Sarah turned towards her brother, Quicksilver. "I'm glad I got to meet you."
Quicksilver smirked and pulled her into a hug. "I'm not good at goodbyes," he said.
"Me either." They pulled apart and Sarah waved at both him and Charles.
Peter slid his hand into Sarah's and they walked out of the room.
Standing outside, Peter looked at Sarah. "You've changed," he said.
Sarah sighed. "Is that good or bad?"
"Good. You're a stronger person now than you were before. I love you for that, Rogers."
Sarah blushed. "I love you too. And, Peter?"
"What?"
"Never call me Rogers again," Sarah laughed.
Peter laughed too. "I won't." He wrapped his arm around her, pulling her closer. Sarah nestled her head into his shoulder and knew she was safe. She felt happiness, something she hadn't felt for six years.
