the night before father's day

dianne's pov

tomorrow it's fathers day and i honestly couldn't wait to give joe his present, jake had made a card and a gift for him and then we also had a special something else to give him. i told joe i would tuck him in tonight so we could go over our surprise.

"what's tomorrow then jakey?" i cooed at our gorgeous 3 year old son

"daddy's day!"

"yes, that's right. and what are we going to do for him?"

"bwekfast in bed and then pwesents and then daddy's supwise"

"good boy, i'll come in tomorrow morning so we can make daddy's favourite." i said just as he yawned

"aw is someone sleepy?" i kissed his forehead, pulled up the duvet and snuggled his baby sloth with him

"night mummy"

"night baby, love you" i said as i walked out the room, then going downstairs to sit with joe.

"morning jake" i said kissing his cheek gently, he groaned and then opened his beautiful blue eyes, he looked exactly like joe.

"morning mummy" he replied nestling his face in my neck

"come on sweetie, let's get up and make daddy his breakfast" i said picking him up

"i wear spesel top"

"oh yeah! let's change you now so we can give daddy his surprise in bed" i got jake changed, putting on a jumper over the special top so we can have a proper reveal.

"ok, now we can make it" picking him up and taking him downstairs to make breakfast. jake and i (mostly me) made joe the granola, youghurt and fruit that he loves so much. whilst we were making that i gave jake some cereal and fruit since i didn't want crumbs all over our bed.

"mummy, can i cawy the pwesent and card for daddy?"

"of course you can baby" i replied picking up the tray with joe's breakfast

"DADDY!" jake exclaimed jumping on the bed and crawling over to him and throwing his arms around his neck

"morning jakey" he replied, his voice slightly rustled since he just woke up

"daddy, me and mummy made you bwekfast and i wote you a card and we got you a pwesent"

"awww, you guys didn't need to do that!" i put his breakfast on his bedside table and went to lie back in bed with jake in between us

"card for daddy" jake said passing him the card he made at nursery. on the front was his hand print and inside there was him attempting to write daddy and his own name but the rest was pre written for him

"thank you jake" joe said cuddling him and kissing his head

"this present, is kind of a different one joe" i said looking at him slightly nervously

"whatever it is, i'll love it di" he reassured me, putting jake on his lap and kissing my cheek

"ok, here it is" i nodded at jake

"daddy, can you hewp take off my jumper?" he asked just like we had practiced

"of course buddy" he replied taking it off, the shirt read 'i'm going to be a big brother'

"surprise" i said passing him the pregnancy test i had taken

"you're pregnant?" he asked, his smile taking over his whole face

"yep, 2 months along, are you happy?"

"oh di, babe of course i'm happy. i'm so so lucky to be married to the most incredible woman, have an amazing son and another baby on the way" he said kissing me gently
