Chapter 4:

Chapter 4: The message

Luna's POV

Jake had brought me home after we left the mall. He was gonna stay at my house but his parents were home and they needed him for something. So he walked me to the door and we kissed for awhile. We pull away and he kisses my forehead before walking to his car. I watch him drive off down the road. When I unlock the door and walk inside, my mom instantly runs over to me.

She seemed really frantic about something and it was scaring me. I calmly say "Mom, tell me what's going on?"

"I-I....... I'm just worried about you."

I say "Mom, I am perfectly okay. I'm not gonna get injured or die while I'm with my friends. What is going on with you these past few days?"

She hesitates and I yell "Mom! Tell me what the hell is going on!"

About that time, my phone chimes letting me know I have a message. I sigh and unlock my phone. I open the message and it was an unknown number.

Unknown

Mommy can't tell her little miss perfect the truth can she?

I say "Mom, who is this?"
I show mom and she gasps and starts crying. She yells "Block the number, block it!"

"Not until you tell me the truth. I deserve to know what the hell is going on in this family."

She sighs and walks over and sits on the couch. I follow her and sit on the chair opposite of her. I sit there staring at her waiting for an answer.

"When I was pregnant with you the doctors realized that there were two babies instead of one. Your father and I were thrilled to be having two little twins. When I gave birth, I thought everything would be okay. A few years later, I learned that they weren't. You were both only four years old when Kyra tried to throw you out the window. We told her that that wasn't okay at all, but several days later she was trying to drown you in the bath tub. Your father and I didn't know what to do so we called a child Psychiatrist. Kyra stabbed the Psychiatrist with a fork and started laughing. We had no other choice but to put her in an insane asylum. It broke our hearts to do that to a child but it was our only choice to keep our family and everyone else safe. *long pause* Things have been okay up until now. Three days ago, the asylum called us to let us know that she had escaped and to be on to lookout and keep ourselves safe and sound. That's when we started getting strange calls with nothing but laughter saying they're coming for us on the other end of the phone. Then you got that package today and it worried the hell out of me. After you left with Jake, your father and I opened it together. I-It was a box full of notes and letters from your sister."

I had tears streaming down my face and I didn't know what to say. "You mean to tell me that I have a twin sister that I did not know about?"

My mom was sobbing by now " I wanted to tell you but I just couldn't. I'm so sorry."

"How could you keep this from me?!"

I was crying really hard and by now I was getting extremely angry with her.

"It was for your own safety! She tried to kill you twice and then she stabbed someone with a fork! With a fork for crying out loud!"
"I don't care! You still could've taken me to visit her every now and then! I deserve to know my own twin sister!"
