a/n: welcome to my newest story! I hope you enjoy it!
Jacks POV
White walls surrounded me. White floors, white ceilings, white chairs, white curtains, and white beds. Everything is white. Beside my bed, a boy boys in a chair, his head in his hands. He looks about my age, with messy brown hair that looks like it hasn't been washed in days. He looks up, and immediately jumps to his feet. Enveloping me in a bear hug, he whispers, "Jack, I've missed you so much." then he's sobbing and I only feel confused. Who is this boy, and who's Jack? It takes me a second to realize that I'm Jack. Suddenly the door opens and a nurse bustles in. "Mr. Daniel Seavey, dear, I'm going to have to ask you to move while I check on your boyfriend." She smiles kindly at me. Her hair is brown with graying pieces in it, and she looks to be around 40 years old."Well, you're awake, so that's good. I'm just going to check your pulse and blood pressure. So keep still for a minute." After a minute of poking and prodding my body, the nurse looks me in the eye. "do you remember anything that happened?" She sounds sincere, and I wish I could give her a better answer, but all I can say is, "No." she hums in response and then asks a series of questions. "What is your full name? When is your birthday? How old are you?" but the only thing I can answer is, "I don't know." And I really don't know. Who am I? What happened to me and why am I here in this hospital? "I was afraid of this." the nurse pauses, then looks back at me. "Hun, I'm going to talk to the doctor for a minute, but I'll be back soon."
The boy, Daniel, who's been standing next to me the entire time sits back down in his chair. He looks at me carefully, like he's trying to unbox who I am. Daniel gentley smiles at me, but the smile doesn't reach his eyes. "I know you don't know who I am, so, um, I'm Daniel." He shuffles his white chair closer to my bed. I look at him and can't help but notice his sharp jawline and beautiful blue eyes. "And, um, before the accident, we were, um, boyfriends." He let's out a breath, and my eyes are drawn to his lips. Before he can speak again, I interupt. "Can you get me a mirror?" He looks taken aback, but complies anyway. The only reason I want a mirror is to see what I look like. For some reason, I don't know anything, much less what my face looks like. Once Daniel comes back with the mirror, I eagerly look, but am quickly dissapointed. My once curly hair is cut short, and a bandage covers most of my head. Bruises are scattered along my face and neck, and my nose looks like it was broken. "Why?" I ask quietly. "Why am I like this? What happened?" Daniel takes a deep breath. "It was an accident, bub. You were in a car accident and hit your head. The docter thinks you have amnesia, so that's why you don't remember anything." Oh. I suppose that makes sense, but it does little to calm my emotions. How am I going to remember anything? I don't know anything about anyone, much less myself! As if he can read my mind, Daniel looks me in the eyes and says, "Don't worry. I help you remember. I have to go now, but I'll be back tommorow and I'll start telling you about yourself." He gets up and walks to the door. Then softly, almost so that I can't hear him, he whispers, "I love you." And leaves me sitting in the painfully white room, mind full of questions.
