(AN: Hello! I didn't yet had an occasion to directly communicate with my readers, so, hello my dear fellas who stepped into this swamp! Now, to the point - I promise I won't brag - I'm sorry for the delay! Holidays made me lazy... I didn't have a mind to edit this chapter. I knew it needed editing, since I tend to make some terrible spelling, grammar and logical mistakes - I still mourn the first few chapters, that show my inexperience in writing most excellently and which I am too lazy to repair. But, I am determined to come back to posting this story weekly.
Thank You for attention,
L.D.)

A-Ta's only ray of light... She got discovered. From a long time, A-Hei took a job of saving the captured boys. She behaved like a mama bear, overprotective and brave. Unwilling to give up. And that caused her demise.
One day, while driving a 6 year old kid out of the palace, a guard saw her. The boy managed to escape, but she got captured. A tiny slip-up, marked with an enormous price. One that not only she had to pay - he also paid. Xue Mei knew of their relationship - of the brother and sister, not connected by blood - and decided to use it for his own sick amusement.
A-Ta watched as the guards dragged her to the main hall. All the boys and maids went silent, anticipating a gory show. Most of them looked relaxed, stretched on couches, between silk pillows, with cups of wine in hands. Yet you could feel the tense atmosphere. It seeped through walls, pinching at their minds. They all knew what A-Hei was doing - some of them helping, others conveniently turning a blind eye at her actions. They liked her, appreciated her efforts. But, right now they could do nothing. Malnourished, void of strength and scared.
Older boys, like him (very few in numbers) had the most problems with not falling on their knees and begging for her to be freed. Because, they were in-debt to her. She gave them food, while they were locked in the dungeons, she gave them water when they were strapped to the walls, chained, left to rot. And now, she was in trouble. And they could only stare, hopeless, as she was hanged by the hands, beaten to a bloody pulp. A-Ta wanted to save her, he really did, but he couldn't. If he did, a faith worse than death awaited him. Xue Mei already planned to get rid of him, since he was too old. If the monster discovered that A-Ta disobeyed him... He wouldn't be pleased.
So, that was it? A-Ta was meant to watch as his sister was tortured to death? She even told him to not rescue her. He was grateful. He was. But, that's not why in his robes hid a dagger. That's not why he prescribed himself this 'suicide mission'. In his long dead eyes, sparked a desire for revenge.
...
"All of you! Look at her! This pathetic bitch, who thought she can steal what's mine! Ha!" yelled Xue Mei, caressing her bare, milky skin. Her arms turned ugly purple, her legs unmoving. A-Hei glared at the men with hatred, cursing him in her mind. But, outside she kept silent, determined to not give him the satisfaction. Even if her body was hurting - burning - she wouldn't yield. For them, for her boys. For A-Ta.
...
And then, Xue Mei requested assistance. Not from one of his guards, that would be too simple. From one of his boys, preferably the one who liked A-Hei. A-Ta.
The teen didn't cower while his name was called out. He lazily stood up from the sofa, and strolled to meet his master.
"Come here boy, come. Give your master a kiss!~" called out Xue Mei, waving to the teen invitingly. A-Ta followed the order and closed the distance between them. Standing on his toes, he reached to the men's mouth and gave him a long, 'passionate' kiss. "Good, good. Now, hold one of her legs."
