Late one night, while Rebecca was all alone in her house, she decided to call up her best friend Joanne. Rebecca's parents were having a date night like they did every Tuesday night, leaving Rebecca at home with nothing to do in a big empty house. It wasn't home to Rebecca, though, it was quite broken in her eyes. Her parents would always fight, and her siblings moved out not wanting to deal with their parents arguing anymore.

After Rebecca hung up her phone, she noticed it started raining outside, and soon lightning and thunder followed. Knowing that Joanne wasn't the best of drivers, Rebecca tried calling her to tell her to stay home, not wanting her to get in an accident, but each time Rebecca tried calling Joanne, the call would be automatically forwarded to voicemail. Rebecca was afraid of storms and always have been since she was a little girl. She was made fun of it by everyone she knew, except Joanne.

Not wanting to hear the thunder, Rebecca grabbed the T.V. remote and turned it on, and started to flip through channels when she saw that there had been a breach in the security at the local prison, specifically the psychiatric ward where they kept the mentally deranged prisoners. This frightened the teenage girl and she flipped pass the news channel and started watching some children's TV show to distract her busy, anxiety-ridden mind.

Rebecca soon fell asleep on the living room couch as the storm raged on. At the front door, there was a scratching sound that woke Rebecca up. Cautiously, she made her way to the front door and unlocked each lock and deadbolt. With a creek, she opened the noisy door, and there on the porch was a soaking wet dog, whining to be let in. She let the dog in, and instantaneously she noticed a putrid smell coming from the dog, as it had never been bathed and rolled in something rotting.

Rebecca changed the channel back to the news hoping to see a weather report, then ushered the dog up the stairs, she immediately started filling up the bathtub to give it a bath so it wouldn't smell as horrid. While bathing the dog, she noticed the water started to turn a deep red, signaling there was blood somewhere. Rebecca frantically searched the dog and noticed on the dog's neck were small cuts from a spiked collar. She took the collar off and immediately started to disinfect the cuts. Once the bath was done, the dog looked fresh and the putrid smell dispersed.

Down the stairs, Rebecca could hear footsteps echoing off the wooden floor. They were quite loud and too heavy to be Joanne. This frightened her, someone was in the house, and she didn't know who it was.

She started drying off the dog when all of a sudden it started growling and barking as if it were upset and didn't like something. After closing the dog inside the bathroom, Rebecca crept down the stairs as quietly as she could to see who was down there. To her surprise, it was her parents who drunkenly stumbled around in the dark, trying to find a light switch.

Sighing with relief, Rebecca went back upstairs to get the dog that she rescued from the storm to show her parents. When she came back down, however, she witnessed something gruesome. There on the floor was her parent's bodies, dead with pools of blood surrounding them. The scene looked like something from a horror movie, there was blood everywhere.

Before running upstairs, Rebecca noticed that the house phone was in her mother's hand with 911 talking on the other line, receiving no answer. Too afraid to grab the phone in case if the murderer was down there with them, she raced upstairs to her room where the other house phone was located, but when she entered her room, the room was similar to the bloody mess downstairs. There on the bed laid Joanne, bloody with a slit throat, not breathing.

At this time Rebecca started crying, and she could hear the police sirens in the distance. She ran back downstairs so she could get to safety. As soon as she made it back to the first floor, the front door flung open with the SWAT team holding their guns with lasers all pointed to Rebecca. She raised her hands and dropped the knife she was holding. As soon as she did this, the officers ran to her and quickly put her in handcuffs. Rebecca looked at the TV to see a wanted photo of her, with her name across the screen with the reporter talking about how the escaped prisoner killed a family of three,
