Hannibal stared in wonder at the golden gates in front of him. He had never really believed in Heaven or Hell, but he always thought that if they were real, he would be going downstairs rather than up.
“Impressive, isn’t it?” a voice said from just behind Hannibal. He turned and saw Will Graham standing there, large as life. Hannibal felt his eyes fill with tears and he hugged Will tightly.
Will patted his back. “You know, I thought I would be waiting here for years, not a few days,” he said and chuckled a bit.
“I’m so sorry, Will,” Hannibal said into Will’s shoulder. “It’s all my fault you’re here.”
“It’s no one’s fault but Gideon’s,” Will told him. “You did a good job, by the way, of hiding that you were the Chesapeake Ripper. I never would’ve guessed.”
Hannibal pulled back from Will. “How did you know?”
Will smiled at him. “What, you think because I’m dead I don’t have ears? I understand why you didn’t tell me. I wouldn’t have told me,” Will said, more seriously now.
“You aren’t angry?” Hannibal asked, confused.
Will shook his head. “No. But I will be angry if you keep beating yourself up about it.” Hannibal smiled.
The golden gates of Heaven creaked open in front of the pair. Will looked at Hannibal. “Let’s go home,” he said and the pair walked through, finally getting their happily ever after.
(A/N- We're at the end, guys! Hmm, I wonder if any of you caught my deliberate misspelling of Hannibal's name somewher in this fic? Hehhehehehehe.)
